IIUM-Kyoto University Research Colloquium was spearheaded by the Procurement and Project Delivery System Research Unit and Department of Quantity Surveying, Kulliyyah of Architecture and Environmental Design (KAED), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), in collaboration with Kyoto University, Japan.
This 3rd colloquium, through its theme "Understanding Shari'ah and Its Application in Construction" aims to help participants to network and keep abreast with the latest research efforts in aspects of Shari’ah in construction and related areas.
The main objectives of this colloquium are:
1. To increase the understanding of participants on the issues and challenges in construction from the perspective of Shari’ah in Malaysia and elsewhere
2. To develop the culture and motivation towards research and publication in related areas
3. To provide a platform for networking between practitioners, academics, researchers and students in dealing with Shari’ah compliance issues in construction.
Invited speakers will be presenting papers related to issues in construction management and contract from Islamic perspective, focusing on:
1. Shari’ah compliant in construction
2. Shari’ah in development and construction
3. Shari’ah in construction funding and contracts
4. Shari’ah in risk management
5. Shari’ah in dispute resolution
6. Others
