The School of Pharmacy currently has the highest number of faculty members and alumni of any other local private pharmacy school in Malaysia. We enjoy a lively and stimulating academic environment in which lecturers, researchers, practitioners and students interact. The faculty have an excellent record in securing research funding and industrial consultancy. All are connected by an interest in med

icines – how they work, how they are made and how they are used by people to stay healthy, to prevent and treat diseases. The School delivers undergraduate pharmacy and pharmaceutical chemistry programmes that meet the needs of a changing world. Both these fields are in demand and our graduates successfully transition into careers within healthcare, the pharmaceutical sector and academia.

🌏💊 School of Pharmacy Student Inbound Mobility Programme 2026 💊🌏

We were delighted to welcome 15 pharmacy students from China to the School of Pharmacy, IMU University from 20–31 July 2026!

Our programme brought together 6 Pharmacy students from Shantou University Medical College and 9 Pharmacy students from Guangxi Medical University for an enriching two-week learning and cultural exchange experience.

📚 Learning Beyond Borders
The students participated in a variety of teaching and learning activities alongside our BP124 Semester 5 students, including:
✨ Lectures
🔬 Workshops

🧩 Problem-Based Learning (PBL) sessions
🤝 Opportunities to exchange ideas and learn from one another

But learning didn't stop in the classroom! 💫

🎉 Our visiting students also joined the School of Pharmacy Week event over the weekend, giving them the opportunity to experience our school community and connect with more of our students.

🌿 They also took part in outing activities with IMU students, creating opportunities to explore, build friendships, and experience Malaysian culture together.

A big thank you to all our academic staff, students, and colleagues who contributed to making this inbound mobility programme a meaningful and memorable experience. ❤️

We hope this is just the beginning of many more opportunities for international collaboration, friendship, and learning across borders! 🌏🤝

Three IMU Pharmacy students participated in a two-week elective placement in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia, from 26 April to 9 May 2026. The placement provided students with valuable international exposure to both community and hospital pharmacy practice through attachments at Complete Care Pharmacy South Hobart, TerryWhite Chemmart, and Royal Hobart Hospital. Students gained first-hand experience in patient-centred pharmaceutical care, multidisciplinary collaboration, medication management, and vaccination services while developing their clinical knowledge, communication skills, and understanding of the Australian healthcare system.
