When learning flows beyond the classroom 🌿💧

What better way to understand rivers than to step into one?

To wrap up their IPC unit, Go With The Flow, our Year 6 learners headed to Janda Baik, where their classroom learning came to life through a day of hands-on exploration.

They explored the river ecosystem, collected insects and leaves to create vivariums, built river models and designed boats using natural materials. Along the way, they put their knowledge into practice while developing teamwork, creativity, problem-solving and independence.

Experiences like these help children make deeper connections with what they learn — not simply reading about the natural world, but observing it, questioning it and discovering it for themselves.

Because some of the most meaningful learning happens when children get the opportunity to experience, explore and do. 🌱

Some lessons are best learned beyond the classroom. 🥾🌿

As part of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Bronze Award Adventurous Journey, our students recently completed their practice journey — an important step in preparing for the final qualifying expedition.

It gave them the chance to put their training into action: navigating unfamiliar environments, working as a team, solving problems and learning to take greater responsibility for themselves and one another.

More than preparation for the journey ahead, it was also an opportunity to build resilience, independence, leadership and confidence through real experience.

Each challenge, decision and shared responsibility brings them one step closer to being ready — not just for the qualifying journey, but for the challenges that lie beyond it. 🧡

More Than a Race 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Sports Day isn’t only about who finishes first. It’s about having a go, pushing through challenges, supporting others and giving your best.

During our Key Stage 2 Sports Day, every student took part in at least two track and field events, proudly representing their House and cheering one another on.

Along the way, they strengthened qualities that matter far beyond sport — resilience, teamwork, confidence and respect.

With students, staff and families coming together, it was a wonderful celebration of effort, achievement and community. 🧡

Because sometimes, the biggest win is realising: I can do more than I thought I could.

Leadership is more than taking the lead. It’s knowing when to lend a hand. 🧡

Our Student Council leaders recently spent a day volunteering at Galeri Animal Malaysia, where leadership looked a little different from what they’re used to in school.

They rolled up their sleeves to help with essential maintenance, fed rescued animals and learnt first-hand about the care and responsibility that goes into animal welfare. 🐾

Because raising young leaders isn’t only about building confidence or giving them opportunities to lead. It’s also about nurturing empathy, responsibility and the willingness to make a difference — even through the smallest acts of care.

These are the experiences that help shape not just capable students, but thoughtful young people who understand their role in the community and the world around them.

Leadership with heart. Care through action. 🧡

🍫 Who Says Learning Can’t Be as Fun as Chocolate?

For our Year 3 learners, chocolate wasn’t just a treat, it became a doorway into science, history, culture, nutrition and plenty of curiosity.

Throughout their IPC Chocolate Unit, learning took many different forms. 🌍 They explored where cocoa comes from and how chocolate has travelled across cultures and through history. 🔬 They investigated states of matter by watching solids melt into liquids. They explored nutrition, got moving with Zumba and even put their creativity to work making their own candy creations.

And to wrap it all up? A Chocolate Exit Point filled with activities, laughter and a few very happy parents. 🍫🧡

Because some of the best learning happens when children are so engaged, they almost forget they’re learning. Sweet, hands-on and full of discovery, now that’s a lesson worth remembering.

🧡Friendships that support. Leadership that leaves a legacy. 💜

Peer-to-Peer Mentoring Programme (PPMP) Friendship and Farewell Day brought students together to celebrate the friendships, memories and sense of belonging built throughout the year.

From heartfelt speeches and performances to a cultural potluck and handmade souvenirs, it was an afternoon filled with laughter, appreciation and meaningful moments. 🌍✨

It was also a special farewell to our Year 11 Peer Mentors, whose kindness, guidance and commitment have helped others feel supported and connected.

Thank you for leading with care and leaving a positive impact on those around you. We wish you all the very best for your IGCSEs and the journey ahead.

Our Year 5 students recently stepped into the role of young educators, sharing their knowledge of the solar system with our Year 1 learners. 🌍🪐

By explaining their learning in an engaging way, Year 5 strengthened their communication skills, deepened their understanding and grew in confidence. They also practised patience, responsibility and leadership as they guided their younger peers.

For Year 1, the session sparked curiosity and excitement about their IPC learning unit on the solar system. Seeing the work of older students gave them an inspiring glimpse of the discoveries and experiences waiting for them as they move through school.

These moments of learning together help older students grow in confidence and leadership, while giving younger learners something exciting to look forward to. ✨

Exploring possibilities. Planning what comes next. 🎓✨

Our Year 10 and Year 11 students took an important step towards their future at the TISKL Higher Education Fair.

With representatives from our sister schools, Taylor’s College and Taylor’s University, students and parents had the opportunity to explore different courses, pathways and higher education options through informative talks and dedicated booths.

More than simply gathering information, the fair encouraged students to ask questions, consider their interests and make more confident, informed decisions about their next chapter.

We believe that preparing students for the future means giving them the guidance, exposure and support to discover the path that is right for them.

Because when students understand their options, they are better prepared to take their next step with confidence.

🎭 Creative Expression in Action

Our Year 7 students explored characterisation and storytelling by bringing their sock puppet characters to life.

Through voice projection, expression and collaboration, students strengthened their communication skills and confidence while learning how ideas can be developed and presented creatively.

Holistic education is reflected in everyday lessons—where students are given opportunities to think differently, communicate effectively, and discover new ways to express themselves.

Well done, Year 7! 👏
