The Centre for Unmanned Technologies (CUTe) team: Dr. Hasan, Dr. Aimi, and Dr. Jazlan conducted a workshop session at PRUBSN TRX on Monday, 11 May 2026.

The workshop covered several important topics including Introduction to AI & Data, Research-Based Prompt Engineering, Microsoft Teams for Workplace Collaboration, Data Analytics using Generative AI, and AI Automation using Workflows.

The session provided practical insights into leveraging AI and digital tools to improve workplace efficiency, collaboration, and innovation.

Alhamdulillah, CUTe has successfully completed the deployment and commissioning of the Mechanization of Water Quality Sensor Probe Project at the Batu Maung fish cages.

This project marks an important step towards advancing smart aquaculture monitoring through real-time water quality sensing technology to support sustainable fisheries management and operational efficiency.

The deployment session involved prototype installation, system testing, and presentation of project deliverables in collaboration with industry and research partners.

Dr Hanafi has been appointed as a judge for the International Rocket Engineering Competition (IREC 2026), organised by the Experimental Sounding Rocket Association (ESRA) 🚀

Recognised as the largest collegiate rocket competition in the world, IREC brings together 150+ global teams to design, build, and launch rockets reaching up to 45,000 ft.
It is hoped that this opportunity will inspire more talents to explore aerospace engineering and strengthen collaboration at a global level.

Today, the CUTe team had the pleasure of hosting representatives from Pendulum Offshore Sdn Bhd (Represented by Mr. Zamri & Ms. Junaidah) & Rototech (Represented by Mr. Simon) at our centre.

The discussion focused on a potential joint project to develop an Underwater Robotic Wrapping Module for offshore anti-corrosion applications, including Oil & Gas platforms, offshore wind farms, and other marine infrastructures.

This collaboration marks an exciting step forward for CUTe in expanding our work in:

CUTe (Centre for Unmanned Technologies) Hosts Lords Institute of Engineering & Technology Students for International Internship Program, Strengthening Global Academic Collaboration

CUTe (Centre for Unmanned Technologies) at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) recently hosted 23 students from Lords Institute of Engineering & Technology (LIET), India, for a 15-day international internship program, reinforcing IIUM’s commitment to global academic engagement and industry collaboration. The cohort included four female students, reflecting the growing diversity in engineering education.

The program, conducted from 19 September to 4 October 2025, featured a series of intensive workshops led by Dr. Hasan Firdaus. Participants received hands-on training in cutting-edge areas such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Deep Learning, Computer Vision, and Real-Time Systems, equipping them with practical, industry-relevant skills.

Organized in collaboration with CUTe and leading Malaysian technology company Delloyd R&D Sdn Bhd, the program bridged academic knowledge with real-world applications, preparing students to meet the demands of advanced technological industries.

This initiative reflects CUTe’s commitment to producing globally competent engineers and advancing innovation in unmanned technologies, AI, and robotics. By hosting international internship programs and strengthening cross-border partnerships, CUTe continues to enhance students’ practical knowledge, improve career prospects, and build a foundation for future research collaborations.
