Materials Lecture Competition 2024

Dear All,



The Centre of Advanced Materials, Faculty of Engineering, UM would like to invite potential candidates to apply for an available position in our research centre as a Project Officer.

WHO WE ARE

The Centre of Advanced Materials (CAM) is a research centre under the Faculty of Engineering, UM. The Centre aims to coordinate and strategize the research in the broad field of Materials Science and Engineering.



LOCATION

Centre of Advanced Materials (CAM), Level 5, Engineering Tower, Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Malaya (UM), Kuala Lumpur.



TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT

Successful candidates will be hired on a full-time contractual basis, initially for one year with the possibility of extension.



JOB SCOPE:



General Office Administration

- Arranging meetings, sending invitations and reminders, and taking minutes of meetings.

- Writing reports for all events organized by the centre.

- Preparing official documents such as letters, proposals, emails and others.

- Maintaining filing system for the centre.



Events and activities

- Providing support to all events organized by the centre (conferences, workshops, training, student competitions, etc) including planning of logistics, budgets, tentative programs, reports, and others as needed by the centre.

- Assisting centre members during the centre events to ensure that all aspects are well planned and executed.



Finance

- Supporting procurement activities including sourcing of suppliers, requesting and preparing quotations, and receiving and issuing payments.

- Tracking and reporting account details in every centre meeting.



Additional tasks

- Able to carry out other related works as the Head of Centre requested.





REQUIREMENTS

Malaysian only.

Candidates must possess at least Higher Secondary(SPM) /STPM/ Diploma /"A" Level/Pre-U or equivalent.

Proficient in English and Bahasa (written and spoken).

Able to work with minimal supervision and to collaborate well with various departments in the University.

Able to multitask and prioritize tasks, attention to detail, strong work ethic, and flexibility.

Good communication skills and ability to interact well with other people.
