Education today continues to evolve at the intersection of policy and practice, where bold ideas are translated into meaningful classroom impact through the work of teachers and school leaders.

We are proud to launch the very first session of our Thought Leadership Series with a timely conversation titled From Policy to Practice: Advancing Teacher Leadership 🔥

Co-organised with Fulbright Malaysia (), this inaugural session explores how teacher leadership can strengthen the connection between policy aspirations and the realities of teaching and learning in schools, in support of the Malaysia Education Blueprint 2026–2035.

We are also honoured to host Fernando M. Reimers, (.reimers) Ford Foundation Professor of the Practice in International Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. A globally respected scholar in education innovation and reform, Prof. Reimers has advised education systems around the world on strengthening teaching, learning, leadership development, and global citizenship education at scale.

This session brings together a curated group of education leaders and practitioners for a focused dialogue on what it takes to bridge policy and practice in today’s evolving education landscape.

Highlights from the session will be shared on our social media platforms, so, stay tuned ✨

When teachers are involved in shaping decisions, education becomes more connected to real classroom realities and student needs, and teacher voices in the conversation bring it even closer to what classrooms actually need.

✨ Introducing the Thought Leadership Series ✨

As one of the key components of the MTP Fellowship launching this year, the series is designed to convene education thought leaders, policymakers, and practitioners. Its core mission is to drive dialogue, share insights, and advance the narrative of teachers as system leaders.

The inaugural session is just around the corner, featuring a special speaker joining us all the way from Harvard 🇺🇸

Stay connected via our social media channels for updates on the first session and a line-up of future sessions across both online and in person settings.

The Malaysia Teacher Prize (MTP) has been one of our most impactful programmes. It is designed to elevate the teaching profession and shine a light on the incredible talent within our classrooms across the country.

But from the very beginning, we never intended it to be a one-off moment of recognition. What we’ve seen over the years is clear: teachers are not just exceptional educators; they are leaders with the potential to shape practice, influence systems, and inspire others far beyond their schools.
So this year, PEMIMPIN is taking a different step.

We are starting with something new: the MTP Fellowship. The Fellowship is designed for outstanding educators who already demonstrate this potential. Teachers who are ready to deepen their impact and extend their influence beyond the classroom. Our first cohort will begin with past Malaysia Teacher Prize Finalists, building on the strength, experience, and proven impact they have already shown.

This is our commitment to go further:
- to invest more deeply in the educators we’ve already discovered,
- to support how their work can grow and create impact at scale,
- and to continue walking alongside them as they lead from where they are.

Because we know that when teachers are given space, not just to participate, but to lead, they don’t just improve practice. They transform systems.

Memetik kata-kata beliau, “Miracles do happen!”

Tahniah Dr Velerie! Terima kasih kerana menginspirasikan kami semua. 🩵

From classrooms to communities, our teachers have done exceptional work. They've pushed boundaries, sparked change, and shown what it truly means to lead in education. The Malaysia Teacher Prize (MTP) has always been about making sure these teachers are seen. To ensure their work is recognised and their impact celebrated.

But recognition alone is never enough.

MTP 2026 goes further ✨

This year, we're asking a bigger question: what happens when you take an already exceptional teacher and give them the support, space, and community to lead systems?

That's the MTP Fellowship, designed for educators who are ready to move beyond their classrooms and shape the future of Malaysian education. Think high-level conversations, boundary-pushing ideas, and a collective of the country's leading teachers with the top minds in Malaysia coming together to learn, challenge, and grow. For our very first cohort, we will start with the past MTP Finalists.

These educators are already changing the system. It's time we fully back them 🔥

P.S. There are no open applications for MTP this year, but stay tuned for more updates on this exciting leadership development journey. You won't want to miss it 👀

What if teachers didn’t just shape classrooms, but the entire education systems?

Something new is coming to the Malaysia Teacher Prize.

"Kembalikan UPSR dan PMR. Kembalikan rotan."

Sounds familiar? It's a sentiment many still hold on to. But what if the real question isn't about going back? What if it's about what we're moving towards?

In this clip, Khairy Jamaluddin tackles this mindset head-on. The conversation isn't about whether the past worked. It's about how we can make evidence-based decisions for the future we're building. What kind of education system do we want our children to grow up in? One based on tradition or one informed by data and research, designed to develop them as thinkers, problem-solvers, and leaders?

Progress doesn't mean forgetting where we came from. It means having the courage to ask: what does the evidence tell us, and what can we do better?

🎥 Watch the full clip to hear Khairy's take along with other keynotes and plenary discussions on our YouTube channel.
