The economic and public health challenges and policy responses created by COVID-19 have severely affected economic activities in most countries around the globe. The pandemic has been expected to plunge economies into recession in 2020, with per capita income contracting in the largest fraction of countries globally since 1870. The World Bank forecasts poverty to increase across developing East Asia excluding China for the first time in 20 years. The outlook for the unemployed in some sectors, tourism, looks especially bleak. The economic and social crises triggered by COVID-19 have added to the challenges of the immediate health crisis.
Therefore, it will be important to find ways for a post-pandemic recovery. But there are a lot of issues that go beyond these short-term effects. Crises like the COVID-19-pandemics also offer windows of opportunity for promoting new ways of doing business and facilitate sustainability transitions across the globe. Hence, submission of papers in any of the three sub-themes to present challenges and solutions to problems caused or stimulated by COVID-19 in the fields of economics, management, business, sustainable development, and education are welcome.

It is a pleasure to invite you to the Connect-Us Conference 2021. The conference is organized by Swiss-ASEAN Learning and Teaching (SALT) and will take place in Manila, Philippines, on 29 November 2021, hosted by San Beda University.
The Connect-Us Conference aims to gather academics, researchers, scientists, practitioners, and policymakers in order to present and discuss research on digital transformation and its impacts on business as well as on economies, societies and educational systems.
The theme of CuC 2021 is Challenges and Opportunities in a Post-COVID World.
