What a fantastic World Book Day celebration! đź“–
The children enjoyed listening to stories from our teachers, dressing up as their favourite book characters, sharing their favourite books, making bookmarks, and taking part in fun games.
Congratulations to all the winners! Most importantly, we are so happy to see all the children enjoying this special event and celebrating the magic of books together. 📚💛

In Chinese culture, the reunion dinner symbolizes togetherness, sharing , and the warmth of family bonds. And this year our children at HiKaRi commemorated their celebrations with a “Hot Pot Reunion Feast” - A tasty way to celebrate Chinese New Year!

Recently, there has been a lot of discussion about whether children should enter primary school at 6 years old or wait until 7.
From our experience working closely with young children, we personally feel that many children are more ready at 7, emotionally, mentally, and socially. At this age, they often show better focus, confidence, and a more positive attitude towards learning.
That said, what truly matters is not just the age, but the readiness and foundation a child has before entering primary school.
We’re thankful to see many of our alumni adapting well in primary school, coping with lessons, building friendships, and growing with confidence. This reminds us that when children are supported, guided, and prepared with care, they can thrive wherever they go.
Every child is different. Readiness matters more than rushing.
Reciting poems from young age builds confidence, enhances memory, improves reading skills, and develops creativity.
