⚠️ Planning to cosplay? Donning a military uniform and carrying imitation weapons at cosplay events could get you in trouble. 🫡Here’s how:

🚨🎖️It’s not automatically an offence, but dressing with the intent to mislead the public into thinking that you are an actual military member could get you investigated under Section 140 of the Penal Code

If weapon props are involved, such as ri**es or ai***ft guns, you could also face action under Section 36 of the Arms Act 1960 if you don’t have a valid licence. 🚔

Bukit Aman Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department director Datuk Noor Hisam Nordin says this includes imitation fi****ms and scheduled sharp weapons such as the keris, machetes, spears, axes, brass knuckles and samurai swords. ⚔️🔫

📸 One such investigation was carried out this year after a video of a man in Gombak carrying a suspected imitation weapon and dressed as a military-style officer went viral. However, no arrests were made in that case.
