The inaugural cohort of the INCLUDE Mobility Programme, set to travel to Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN), Indonesia this May, was officially launched in an exclusive session with the Minister of Higher Education, YBM Dato’ Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir, alongside the Deputy Minister of Higher Education, YB Adam Adli.

The session was also attended by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs), Professor Dr. Zamri bin Radzi, and the Associate Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International), Professor Dr. Yvonne Lim Ai Lian.

More than a courtesy visit, the session marked a significant milestone for the programme, reflecting strong support for inclusive and accessible global mobility opportunities for Malaysian students.

This launch represents the beginning of a series of impactful international experiences under the INCLUDE initiative, organised by the Global Mobility Centre with the close collaboration between Centre for Counselling & Disability Centre, 7th Residential College and AUN-DPPnet.

Today, we say goodbye to our intern, Trey, after five months with the Global Mobility Centre

During his internship, Trey supported the team across a wide range of responsibilities, from office and administrative management, design and creative work, handling student enquiries, data entry, to assisting with logistics for mobility programmes and activities. His willingness to learn, adaptability, and positive attitude made him a valued part of our daily operations.

Internships are more than just gaining work experience, they are about understanding how international engagement, student mobility, and behind-the-scenes coordination come together to create meaningful global opportunities. Trey embraced this experience with dedication and professionalism, and we are grateful for his contributions to GMC.

We wish you all the very best in your next chapter, Trey. Take care, and we hope the skills and experiences gained here will continue to support your journey ahead!

From 19–25 January 2026, Universiti Malaya sent five students to represent UM at the AUA–SNU Youth Forum 2025: Sustainable Cities and Living Heritage, hosted by Seoul National University, Republic of Korea.

The forum brought together students from Asian Universities Alliance (AUA) member universities for a programme centred on United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 11: “Sustainable Cities and Communities”.

This forum examines how cities can achieve sustainable development while safeguarding cultural and historical heritage. Through hands-on, field-based learning across Seoul, students gained first-hand insights into how urban development and heritage preservation can work in synergy.

Our student representatives were:
• Lim Xin Bei (Faculty of Engineering)
• Natania Chong (Faculty of Languages and Linguistics)
• Nur Aisyah Binti Ahmad Kamil (Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences)
• Foong Yin Kei (Faculty of Business and Economics)
• Hooi Qiu Yi (Faculty of Business and Economics)

Special congratulations to Nur Aisyah, who achieved 2nd Place, and Hooi Qiu Yi, who won 3rd Place for Best Presentation, an excellent achievement by both students!

We are proud of our students for representing UM with confidence and dedication, and we look forward to seeing how the knowledge, perspectives, and experiences gained from this forum will be brought back and shared, contributing to more sustainable and inclusive communities, both locally and globally 🇲🇾🇰🇷
