Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA) National Awards- Landscape Award - TRX, 23rd October
Pentago and Oculus are the proud winners of the National Landscape Award for TRX City Park under the International Category at the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA) National Award Ceremony last week.
We are humbled by this recognition from the Australian Institute at the national level!👏🏻👏🏻
Here’s what the jury had to say about TRX Park:
“This project has created a fun green rooftop in Kuala Lumpur that responds to the need for transformation within the city’s busy urban areas. The design team have taken a blank space and turned it into a diverse and popular public green space that employs advanced soil design techniques, and includes water play areas and an innovative drainage system.
A diverse and vibrant plant palette alongside deep soil planting helps to mitigate urban heat issues, while seamless integration into Kuala Lumpur’s public space network enables the park to enhance the greater urban landscape. In this respect, the project sets a new benchmark for future green infrastructure developments.”
We will be hosting a networking session and guided tour of the park on the 15th of November with the Malaysian-Australian Business Council (MABC).

Last week we led a delegation from the International Islamic University Malaysia, Kulliyyah of Allied Health Sciences on tour of TRX City Park with our colleagues at The Exchange TRX.
The group were interested in exploring the design ethos of the project and understanding the issues faced during construction. There was a particular focus on the use of native and ethnobotanical planting species with a view to inspiring their campus and a garden focussed plants that have medicinal uses.
An enjoyable and fruitful visit was had by all!

Congratulations to Lendlease and all the team for delivering this exceptional project.

Pentago participated in the Tatler Sustainability Weekend when we joined one of the panel discussions on ‘The Impact of Green Spaces in Urban Environments’ in The Exchange TRX. During the discussion we elaborated on TRX City Park and the dynamic contribution of the Park towards Kuala Lumpur’s urban space provision. With the panel discussion focusing on green issues, we also explained further about the planting concepts used in the park and the use of predominantly native plant species.
Overall it was a great enjoyable and diverse discussion with the fellow panellists and the moderator. Thank you to Tatler for inviting us to participate and we look forward to joining at the next event.
