In the year of 1967 with the aid of World Health Organization (WHO), ANEP has conducted courses for nurse educator, midwife educator, medical assistant educator and nurse administrator. In October 1997 ANEP has started the Advanced Diploma courses in the clinical specialty fields for six months. Among the clinical specialty courses conducted were critical care nursing, pediatric nursing, oncology
nursing, emergency nursing and perioperative nursing. In the year 2001, the structure of the clinical nursing specialty courses was changed to modular system, to provide more flexible opportunities for the candidates to enroll into the courses. With further review, in the year 2007, the structure of the courses has adapted semester system approach with full time basis to provide better learning opportunities for the students. Beside clinical specialty courses, the program also conducting other courses such as Advanced Diploma in Teaching Methodology and Diabetic Educator course. This college is also providing short term in-service courses such as Intravenous Therapy Competency Course and Teaching Methodology Workshop for PPUM staffs. CANE will continue to provide support in training and education of the nurses and medical assistances according to needs. The curriculum and activities of CANE will be assessed and modified to the needs from time to time.
