Realism, emerging in the mid-19th century, was an art movement that rejected idealized subjects and instead focused on portraying life as it is. Its purpose was to depict reality with honesty and accuracy, capturing everyday subjects, natural details, and the true essence of form without exaggeration.

Siamese Fighting Fish by Alice Lim (gesso and acrylic on canvas, 30 × 30 cm) presents a vivid portrayal of the fish through a textural approach. By combining acrylic paint with gesso, the artist builds layered surfaces that enhance depth and movement, giving the subject a dynamic, almost tactile presence.

The contrast between the detailed subject and the textured background highlights the fluid motion of the fish, allowing it to emerge vividly from its surroundings.

Lesson 1｜油画体验课 (Introduction to Oil Painting)

让学生初步体验油画媒材与基本作画流程，并在创作过程中认识自己的长处与需要加强之处。
Students will explore oil painting materials and basic processes, while identifying their strengths and areas for improvement.

Lesson 2｜色彩基础：Hue / Value / Saturation
Key Focus｜重点：
-明度（Value）是构建绘画最重要的基础。
Value is the most important foundation in painting.
-Practice｜练习：
以单色静物为参考（Monotone Still Life Image）
Use a monotone still life reference
-完成一幅单色油画
Complete a monochrome oil painting
-学习基本油画操作与明度表现
Learn basic oil painting handling and value control

Lesson 3｜冷暖色与灰色调 (Warm & Cool Colors + Greys)

学习观察物体的冷暖变化，并理解冷暖色与灰色调的应用。
