TAR UMT is honoured to host the book launch ceremony for 'One Country, One People: The Life and Legacy of Tun Tan Cheng Lock', a timely publication that details the life and legacy of one of the key founding fathers of Malaysia.

The launch was graced by Datuk Seri Ir Dr Wee Ka Siong, Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BOT) of TARC Education Foundation; Datin Paduka Tan Siok Choo, granddaughter of Tun Tan Cheng Lock and member of the BOT; Prof Dato’ Indera Ir Dr Lee Sze Wei, President of TAR UMT; and Ir Prof Dato' Dr Ewe Hong Tat, President of UTAR.

This momentous occasion was also made extra special with the presence of the family members of YTM Tunku Abdul Rahman (first Prime Minister of Malaysia), Tun Hussein Onn (third Prime Minister of Malaysia), Tun V. T. Sambanthan, and Tun Dr Ismail Abdul Rahman.

'One Country, One People: The Life and Legacy of Tun Tan Cheng Lock' is currently on sale. Proceeds from the sale of the book will be donated to the TARC Tun Tan Siew Sin Student Loan Fund.

One Team, One Goal, TAR UMT!

TAR UMT celebrates its contingent of more than 190 student-athletes representing the University at the Sukan Institusi Pendidikan Tinggi (SUKIPT) 2026 from 28 Aug - 6 Sept 2026.

Prof Dato’ Indera Ir Dr Lee Sze Wei, President of TAR UMT attended the flag handover ceremony to inspire and motivate the student-athletes ahead of the games, where the students will compete in 13 different sports for a shot at glory.
