Today reminded us that play has no age limit. ❤️
There is something incredibly special about watching the youngest and oldest members of our community come together. Laughter echoed through the room as little hands reached out to help, conversations blossomed over games, and smiles appeared in places where words sometimes couldn’t.
We were deeply moved watching the residents of Le Maison Care Home persevere through every challenge. Some carefully worked their fingers to manipulate the beautifully designed PlanToys Better Ageing games, strengthening fine motor skills one piece at a time. Others eagerly joined in a game of bingo, exercising their minds with numbers, strategy, and plenty of friendly laughter. Beside them, the children learned something equally valuable—patience, kindness, empathy, and the simple joy of connecting with another generation.
A heartfelt thank you to Le Maison Care Home for opening your doors and welcoming us so warmly, and to Plantoys Malaysia and Playlab for generously sponsoring the wonderful toys from the Better Ageing range. These thoughtfully designed materials became so much more than games today—they became bridges that connected generations.
As educators, we often speak about preparing children for the future. But perhaps one of the greatest lessons we can give them is helping them appreciate the people who came before them.
Today’s experience reminded us that intergenerational programmes are not just meaningful—they are necessary. They nurture children’s compassion while giving older adults opportunities for joy, purpose, movement, conversation, and connection. Both generations walked away having learned something from one another.
We hope this is only the beginning of many more moments where generations don’t simply meet—but truly belong together. ❤️
