April is Autism Awareness Month.
In our classrooms, you will see not limitations, but effort;
not labels, but potential;
not “special”, but children who deserve to be understood.
They may learn, communicate, and experience the world in different ways,
but every day, they are trying their very best to learn, to participate, and to grow.
What they need is not sympathy,
but understanding, acceptance, and opportunities.
When society understands more,
there will be fewer misunderstandings.
When there is more acceptance,
more doors to education and future employment can be opened for them.
Let us choose to see their efforts,
and believe in their possibilities.
Because every child
deserves to be seen,
to be respected,
and to be given a chance.
