The Asian Banking School (ABS), represented by Sharon Liew, recently engaged with the School of Management and Economics (SME) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong 香港ä¸ć–‡ĺ¤§ĺ¸ - CUHK together with Prof. Tianyu Zhang, Associate Dean of the Shenzhen Institute of Data Economy and Area Head of Accounting at SME.
A key highlight from the discussion was CUHK-Shenzhen’s unique positioning within the Greater Bay Area—where Shenzhen’s innovation and technology, Hong Kong’s capital markets, and Guangdong’s real economy converge. As an AACSB-accredited business school within CUHK’s dual-campus framework, SME combines strong academic rigour with close proximity to this dynamic ecosystem, enabling a practical, execution-focused approach to learning.
The engagement covered areas such as Executive Education, sustainable finance, talent development, and potential joint research, with a shared focus on building industry-relevant capabilities.
As ASEAN continues to advance its sustainable finance agenda, the emphasis is increasingly shifting towards implementation—creating opportunities for cross-regional collaboration that connect innovation, capital, and real-economy insights.
This marks an initial engagement, with further areas of collaboration to be explored.
