January began with a quiet decision:
to start sharing phonics content online.

From there, 2025 unfolded into more than I imagined.

– Ran online phonics training workshops
– Taught students in both online & physical settings
– Met my partners and joined The Talking Oaks
– Filmed our video subscription lessons (over 260 videos!)
– Completed our company photoshoot
– Conducted physical phonics workshops across multiple locations (the furthest: Johor!)
– Trained 100+ educators & parents in total
– Earned my HRDC accreditation
– Met so many passionate educators and parents through The Magical Spell booth ✨

This year reminded me that impact is built slowly,
consistently, and always with purpose.

Because memorizing isn’t the same as understanding.
Real spelling success starts with decoding sounds, not drilling word lists.

Instead of memorizing “cat,
” teach them to hear and write:
👉 /k/ /a/ /t/ = C-A-T 🐱

✅ Spelling becomes logical, not lucky
✅ They can spell new words they’ve never seen before
✅ It builds reading and writing skills together
Teach them the why behind the word — not just the shape of it.
Real phonics = real literacy.

🧸✨ Blending can be tricky — but it doesn’t have to be!
Try using fluff balls to make it fun, visual, and hands-on!

Each fluff ball = one sound.
Lay them out:
🟣 /c/ 🟢 /a/ 🔵 /t/
Now slowly push them together as you say the sounds:
👉 “/c/… /a/… /t/…” ➝ “cat!” 🐱

✅ Builds confidence before jumping into written words
