This day raises awareness about the rights and dignity of persons with disabilities and calls on communities, organisations, and leaders to break down barriers in education, healthcare, public spaces, employment, and digital access.

🌟 In Loving Memory of Mr. Tan Yap – Malaysia’s Father of the Deaf 🌟

Today, 11 November 2025, marks what would have been the 114th birthday of the late Mr. Tan Yap, lovingly remembered as Malaysia’s Father of the Deaf.

Born on 11 November 1911, Mr. Tan Yap dedicated his life to uplifting and empowering the Deaf community in Malaysia. Through his vision,
compassion, and tireless advocacy, he helped lay the foundation for Deaf education, sign language recognition, and community inclusion in our country.

His legacy continues to inspire generations — reminding us that communication has no boundaries when it is guided by empathy, respect, and understanding.
