2021 Korean Speech Contest in Malaysia

The Education and Sharing Foundation and Korean Language Education Institute in Malaysia and the GCS International and Dongseo University in Korea will host the 2021 Korean Speech Contest. The contest is designed to encourage Korean language learners to enhance their understanding of the Korean language and culture as well as to provide the motivation for furthering their Korean language proficiency.
All the Korean language learners are invited to participate in the event as this is indeed an excellent opportunity to come together and learn from one another through fun and inspiring activities.

■ When: 27th Nov 2021, Saturday 09:00 ~ 16:00 p.m.
■ Method : via Zoom
■ Theme :
1. 한국어를 배우고 달라진 나 - Changes in my life after learning Korean
2. 자랑하고 싶은 말레이시아 문화 - Interesting Malaysian cultures worth bragging about
■ Category
o Teenager (till 16 years old) mix level
o General - Beginner / Intermediate / Advanced

■ Qualification:
- Malaysians and Foreigners living in Malaysia who can speak the Korean language
※ Those who have won a prize at any Korean Language Speech Contest held in another event or country are not allowed to apply for this contest.
■ Documents to be submitted: Google form
o Application form ( https://forms.gle/fEaGSatxM1fXtWVB6)
o Script of speech (length : 3minutes)
■ Application : till 13th(Sat) Nov 24:00 Midnight
■ Evaluation & Selection
o 1st Stage : Evaluation of submitted documents
o 2nd Stage : Telephone Interview
o 3rd Stage : Speech contest
※ 30 applicants will be selected for the 3rd stage. after selected all participant have to send Passport size picture and 60sec Self-introduction video.
■ Levels:
o Teenager - no levels
o General - 3 levels : Basic, Intermediate and Advanced
※ Applicants' levels will be decided by the Organizer based on the submitted documents and the telephone interview.
■ Awards:
o Grand Prize at overall levels (1person): a certificate, a plaque and 6 month Scholarship for Korean Program at Dongseo Univ and winning prize
o Champion at all four levels (4persons): a certificate, a plaque and 3 month Scholarship for Korean Program at Sponser's Korean Univ and winning prize
o 1st Runner up at all four levels (4persons): a certificate, a plaque and winning prize
o 2nd Runner up at all four levels (4persons): a certificate, a plaque and winning prize
o Special Award at all four levels (6persons): a certificate, a plaque and winning prize
o Dato/Datuk's Award at all four levels (3persons): a certificate, a plaque and winning prize

* All participants will receive a Certificate, a Participation plaque and gift and all the audience will be eligible for a lucky draw. Also, there will be various cultural performances.
