🌿 Daily Outdoor Time 🌿

At Junior Champs, our Joy Class enjoys at least 30 minutes of outdoor play each day β€” because meaningful learning often happens beyond the classroom. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, we see the environment as the β€œthird teacher,” where thoughtfully prepared spaces encourage curiosity, independence, and exploration. Through activities like sand play, gardening, and free movement, children learn by engaging with the world around them.

πŸ’› At home, you can try this too:
Keep it simple β€” a trip to the park, some gardening, or even free play with natural materials. Sometimes, the best learning happens when children are free to get a little messy!

Over the weekend, our Champs had a wonderful experience as Book Ambassadors at πŸ“šβœ¨

They learned how to serve customers, arrange books neatly, help customers find their favourite reads, and even guide them to the cashier πŸ›οΈπŸ’› Even though some of them were shy, they were still willing to try their best and step out of their comfort zone 🌟

It was a meaningful hands-on experience that helped them build confidence, responsibility, and teamwork in a real-life setting ✨

We ended the day with a heartwarming storytelling session by our teachers πŸ“–πŸ’›

A big thank you to for this wonderful opportunity, and to our parents for your continuous support πŸ’›

This Book Week, we had the privilege of welcoming local authors Chelsea Penafort (Little Momo, The Brave ) and Rozy Khalid (Anger No Stranger .books ) to Junior Champs πŸ“šβœ¨

Our Champs had the wonderful opportunity to listen to the stories told by the authors themselves, ask questions, and engage confidently throughout the sessions πŸ’›

It was a truly meaningful experience watching stories come to life right before them. Moments like these inspire a deeper love for reading and storytelling in our children πŸ“–βœ¨

Thank you to our authors for making this Book Week so memorable!

Our Oak Tree junior chefs truly impressed us from start to finish! πŸ‘©β€πŸ³βœ¨

From recognising ingredients in Malay to peeling, cutting, cooking and tasting, they proudly prepared their very own ABC soup. 🍲🌽πŸ₯•πŸ₯”πŸ§…πŸ…

Besides cooking, we also learned the Malay names of our favourite fruits like banana (pisang), papaya (betik), pineapple (nanas) and grape (anggur)! πŸŒπŸπŸ‡

Learning beyond the classroom makes every moment more meaningful and fun! 🌈✨

Today our 5-year-old children had so much fun learning through movement and play! 😊

We played an exciting preposition game using hula hoops, where the children followed instructions such as in, out, left, and right. This activity helped them understand positional words in a hands-on and engaging way while also strengthening their listening skills, coordination, and confidence in following directions.

It was wonderful to see the children laughing, participating actively, and supporting one another as they explored these concepts through play.

Learning becomes even more meaningful when it is active, joyful, and shared with friends! 🌟

What a joyful Chinese New Year celebration we had today! 🧧✨

Our champs danced to festive Chinese New Year songs, enjoyed tasting 年糕 (nian gao), listened to the story of how we celebrate Chinese New Year, and took part in a lovely CNY fashion show in their festive outfits. They also received angpaos and practised saying auspicious greetings when receiving them. To top it off, they created another special CNY craft to bring home. 🎊🌸

From all of us at Junior Champs, we wish everyone a Happy Chinese New Year filled with happiness, good health, and prosperity! 🍊🧨✨
