On 20 May 2026, a delegation from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), led by Ir. Dr. Mohd Hafis Sulaiman from the Department of Mechanical And Manufacturing Engineering, UPM visited the Academy of Innovative Semiconductor and Sustainable Manufacturing (AISSM), National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Taiwan, in conjuction with Mechaexplore 1.0: Putra-Taiwan Tech Venture Mobility Program. The delegation was joined by 15 undergraduate students from the Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering programme.

The visit aimed to foster academic exchange and explore future educational collaboration, while providing students with exposure to interdisciplinary engineering education, semiconductor technologies, and sustainable manufacturing initiatives at NCKU AISSM.

During the visit, the delegation participated in an AISSM Information Session led by Prof. Ming-Chi Chou, Associate Dean of AISSM, featuring an introduction to NCKU and AISSM, as well as sharing sessions on the AISSM Semiconductor Summer School and international learning opportunities.

The programme also included a tour of the Intelligent Manufacturing Research Center (iMRC), student sharing and interaction sessions with AISSM students and a guided tour around the NCKU campus, introducing students to the university’s academic environment and innovation ecosystem

This meaningful engagement reflects the growing collaboration between UPM and NCKU AISSM in nurturing future engineering talent and strengthening international academic partnerships in semiconductor and sustainable manufacturing fields.
