My self-study course for new freelance trainers is currently baking. It documents my path of building my brand as a trainer-entrepreneur.

I'm posting this as a way to ensure I actually get it done by 31 August 2024. Otherwise I'll procrastinate.

The self-study course will have 12 hours of video content and step by step instructions on reaching the market and beyond. I ran this in years past as a virtual course but am now happy to let it go and exist online on its own.

It comes with a companion printed book of articles that will be mailed out to everyone who buys the course.

Last Call for the 'gamirofy' training program. In this program, I am giving away my secret weapon to all of you. The secret of engaging the participants to participate actively in class. They will chat, they will talk and they will switch on their camera.
Recently I, NurulFathiyah AbdulMuen conducted a series of classes on Performance Management for a group of young talents in the banking industry. I was warned, some of them are reluctant to switch on their camera. In all the sessions that I have conducted, all of the participants switch on their cameras and I get a perfect score of 4.0 from one of the classes. The other two gave me 3.8.
What did I do? I invite them to learn, and I invite them to play.

Dear L&D Professionals, Trainers, and Learning Facilitators.

What do you want to see happens in your virtual learning session? I bet your answer is 'I want my learner to be engaged, and yes, please switch on the camera'.

Great, now what is your strength to make this happens? I am sure, you love what you are doing as a learning facilitator, therefore you have learned many tools to make online learning work for you and your learners. As a qualified trainer, you are aware that learning should be student-centered. Your passion is your strength.

Imagine a successful learning session, how does it look like? I believe you can see a smile on your learner's face. They have learned something new and they had a lot of fun in class. The 4 hours class felt so short, they actually want more. As for you, you feel good and you want to do this more often.

What improvement can you make in your class, for your session to be highly engaging and yes, the camera is ON? I bet you want to do something different. Something that will make everyone active. Something that will make them talk to you or to each other. Something fun enough to make them participate; talking and showing their face.

What can you do today to make this happen? I encourage you to explore game-based learning and look for opportunities to apply this in your class. You can play games during ice-breaking and have a great start. You can play games for energizer to boost their energy. You can simulate your case study using a game and let them explore and solve the problem in that game.

Have faith that you can be that cool trainer, that your learners remember for a very long time because they had a lot of fun and learn a lot of things in your session.
