The **"Ata Pattama" Vesak Lantern** is far more than a festive decoration — every part of it carries a profound Buddhist teaching, quietly waiting to be understood.

🔹 The **Four square sections** represent the **Four Noble Truths** — the foundation of the Buddha's teachings on suffering and liberation.
🔹 The **Eight triangles** symbolise the **Eight Worldly Conditions (Aṭa Lo Dhamma)** — the gains and losses, praise and blame, pleasure and pain that we all experience in life.
🔹 The **Open spaces** at the top and bottom signify **birth and death** — the two gateways every being must pass through.
🔹 The **Surrounding folds** represent the **endless cycle of Saṃsāra** — existence that turns and turns until wisdom sets us free.

Today marks the **4th day of the 4th Lunar Month — the Sacred Birth Anniversary of Lord Shakyamuni Buddha!**

Over 2,500 years ago, Prince Siddhartha was born in the Lumbini Garden. With one hand pointing to the heavens and one to the earth, he proclaimed: *"In heaven and on earth, I alone am the Honoured One"* — heralding an era of wisdom and compassion for all sentient beings.

On this most auspicious occasion, we honour the Divine Birth of Lord Buddha and offer the merit of the **Bathing Buddha Verse**:
*"I now bathe all the Tathagatas, adorned with pure wisdom and the ocean of merits. May all sentient beings in the five turbid realms be cleansed of defilements, and together attain the pure Dharma body of the Tathagata."*

May all beings be blessed with peace, joy, and wisdom. May we all walk the path toward enlightenment! 🌺🕯️

在佛教中，這兩尊佛陀的名號最為人熟知，但許多人常常疑惑 - 祂們有什麼不同？其實兩位佛陀皆同等偉大、無異無別，只是示現的世界與使命各有不同。

🌍 **世界與職責**
釋迦牟尼佛是娑婆世界的教化者，在我們這個充滿苦難的世間示現成佛，說法度眾。
阿彌陀佛則是西方極樂世界的教主，以四十八大願建立清淨佛土，專門接引十方眾生離苦得樂。

⏳ **成佛時間**
釋迦牟尼佛約於2500多年前在古印度成佛；
阿彌陀佛早在十劫之前便已成佛，時間之久遠超乎想像。

📿 **佛號意義**
「釋迦牟尼」意為釋迦族的聖者，象徵寂默與智慧。
「阿彌陀佛」意為無量光佛、無量壽佛，代表無邊的智慧與無盡的慈悲。

🧘 **身份差異**
釋迦牟尼佛以「化身佛」形式在人間示現教化；
阿彌陀佛以「報身佛」形式常住極樂淨土接引眾生。兩者並非同一尊佛，但本質同等偉大。

🌸 **修行方式**
修學釋迦牟尼佛教法，著重八正道、斷煩惱、證涅槃。修學阿彌陀佛淨土法門，則以信、願、行為根本，持名念佛、借佛力往生淨土。

📖 正是釋迦牟尼佛親口在《阿彌陀經》中介紹了極樂世界的存在，引導眾生發願往生。**釋迦牟尼佛是引路人，阿彌陀佛是接引者**，兩者相輔相成，共度眾生。

🙏【Amitabha Buddha vs Shakyamuni Buddha - What's the Difference?】

Two of the most widely known Buddhas in Buddhism - yet many people wonder, how are they different? The truth is, both are equally great and without distinction. Each simply manifests with a unique world, role, and mission.

🌍 **World & Role**
Shakyamuni Buddha is the teacher of our Saha World, manifesting in this realm of suffering to teach the Dharma and guide all beings. Amitabha Buddha is the sovereign of the Western Pure Land, who through his 48 great vows established a realm free from suffering to receive all beings from every direction.

⏳ **Time of Enlightenment**
Shakyamuni Buddha attained Buddhahood approximately 2,500 years ago in ancient India.
Amitabha Buddha attained Buddhahood ten eons ago — a timespan far beyond human comprehension.

📿 **Meaning of the Name**
"Shakyamuni" means the sage of the Shakya clan, symbolizing silence and wisdom.
"Amitabha" means Infinite Light and Infinite Life - representing boundless wisdom and inexhaustible compassion.

🧘 **Identity & Manifestation**
Shakyamuni Buddha manifests as the Nirmanakaya (Emanation Body) in the human world to teach and guide.
Amitabha Buddha abides as the Sambhogakaya (Reward Body) in the Pure Land to receive and welcome beings. Though different, both are equally magnificent.

🌸 **Main Practice**
Following Shakyamuni Buddha's path focuses on the Noble Eightfold Path, overcoming afflictions, and realizing Nirvana. The Pure Land path of Amitabha Buddha centres on Faith, Vows, and reciting the Buddha's name - relying on his vow-power to be reborn in the Pure Land.

📖 It was Shakyamuni Buddha himself who introduced us to Amitabha Buddha and the Pure Land through the Amitabha Sutra. **Shakyamuni points the way; Amitabha welcomes us home.** Together, they work hand in hand to liberate all beings.

On May 1st, 2026 (Friday), the 15th day of the lunar third month, we encounter a rare and auspicious day - a combination of Six & Ten Fasting Days, the sacred anniversary of Baosheng Dadi (Wu Zhenren), and a special merit day dedicated to Amitabha Buddha.

Such a day is regarded as a powerful moment for cultivating goodness - where a single kind thought can multiply merits, and a sincere heart can bring vast blessings.
