Are you looking forward to the new HSK 7-9 textbooks? Be patient, these textbooks will only be released later this year or early next year. If you are studying HSK 1-6, you will be relieved that there will be no changes to the existing textbooks for a while. In the new HSK band 2, you will need to learn 1272 vocabularies, which is a little bit more than the old HSK level 4. Similar increase is found in new HSK band 3 too. Although you have to spend more time on memorizing vocabularies, most of them are related to daily life and used frequently. While the new HSK standards have come into effect, the changes will not affect the upcoming HSK tests immediately. The new advanced levels (7-9) will only be launched next year, and the current HSK 1-6 tests will gradually change from 2024 onwards.
