Fundraising Event – “Natheswaram and Thavil: Our Identity”
Date: 19th July 2025
Time: 6:00 PM onwards
Venue: HGH Convention Centre, Sentul, Kuala Lumpur

Join us for an inspiring evening dedicated to preserving and promoting our rich musical heritage – Natheswaram and Thavil. This noble initiative aims to empower students from the B40, M40, and underprivileged communities by creating sustainable career opportunities in traditional music.

With over 2,000 temples across Malaysia relying on foreign musicians, it is time we train and uplift our own local talents to take their rightful place. Through the Tamil Isai Sangam certified syllabus, students will receive structured training and a certificate upon successful completion.

Your support can make a real difference.
We invite you to purchase tables and be part of this meaningful cause. Together, let’s celebrate our culture and invest in the future of our youth.

Natheswaram Thavil Fine Arts Academy Malaysia, under the guidance of Shri Ganesan Arumugam Pillay and team, successfully conducted its first-ever Nadaswaram and Thavil Workshop at Sri Sithi Vinayagar Temple, Jalan Pasar, Kuala Lumpur.

The workshop witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 57 students and was conducted by esteemed maestros:
• Dr. Vijay Karthikeyan, Nadaswaram Professor and scholar
• Idumbavanam Prakash Ilayaraja, renowned Nadaswaram vidwan
• Kalaimani Kovilur KG Kalyana Sundaram, celebrated Thavil artiste

The session provided a foundational understanding of skills and techniques in Nadaswaram and Thavil. The lecture-demonstration was followed by a stunning live performance that enthralled the audience and received resounding applause. It clearly showed that Malaysians truly value classical music when presented with authenticity and passion.

Looking ahead, the Academy is proud to present a Grand Fundraising Program to further promote the rich heritage of Nadaswaram and Thavil:
