SSIS Debaters To The International Platform! 🎉

Four talented teams from SSIS participated in the prestigious Oxford Debate Competition held at Brighton International School on 11th April 2026, showcasing their exceptional critical thinking, research, and public speaking skills.

Berry Chow and Shermaine Tai from 8 Agape achieved an outstanding result, placing as 1st Runner-Up out of 40 teams, a remarkable feat that demonstrates their dedication and hard work. As a result, they will be representing Malaysia at the upcoming competition at Oxford University, UK.

In addition to this impressive achievement, our debaters also received individual recognition for their exceptional performances:
Matthew Yap was awarded The Best Speaker,
Berry Chow was ranked the 5th Best Speaker,
Shermaine Tai was ranked the 8th Best Speaker.

We are incredibly proud of our debaters for their outstanding achievements and look forward to their continued success on the international stage!

School Debate Team Achieves Great Success! 🎉

A few students from our school took part in the prestigious Malaysia Youth Speakers Debating Championship 2026, held at Sri KDU National Secondary School, Kota Damansara.

The event brought together talented young debaters from all over the country, and our students did us proud! Our team consisted of 1) Jordan Lim (7AM), 2) Cheng Sin Yin (7AR), 3) Jerald Lee (8AL), 4) Harvey Teo (8AM), 5) Beh Zi Xuan (8AR), 6) Aaron Yuan (8AR), 7) Thaddeus Kee (8AG), 8) Matthew Yap (10AL), 9) Berry Chow (8AG), 10) Lee Chenn Feng (8AM), and 11) Jayden Lee Zhi Cheng (8AG).

The competition was fierce, but our debaters showed remarkable skill and confidence. Berry Chow emerged as the champion in the Junior Category, a testament to her exceptional public speaking skills and dedication to the craft. She was also named the 5th-best junior debater, a remarkable achievement!

Matthew Yap and Thaddeus Kee entered the finals in the novice category, demonstrating their potential and growth as debaters. Matthew was also awarded the 3rd best debut speaker, a recognition of his impressive debut performance.

We are incredibly proud of our students for their outstanding achievements and for representing our school with excellence. Their hard work and passion for debating have truly paid off!

MINI WATER POLO U16 CHAMPION!

We are delighted to announce that our exceptional water polo athlete, Tan Yi Wen from the 9AM batch, participated in the prestigious 6th Kuala Lumpur Mini Water Polo tournament at Cempaka School last weekend.

This highly anticipated event brought together talented teams from across the region, all vying for the top spot in this thrilling competition. Yi Wen's team, DSA, demonstrated remarkable skill and teamwork, ultimately emerging victorious as the Champions of the U16 category.

Their impressive win is a testament to their unwavering dedication, perseverance, and passion for the sport. We extend our warmest congratulations to Yi Wen and his team on this outstanding achievement, and we can't wait to see what the future holds for these talented young athletes!

2 TEAMS, 2 TOP SPOTS!

We are thrilled to share that we sent not one, but two teams to participate in the highly anticipated First Pull Ultimate Open, which was held at the prestigious Taylor's International School in Puchong!

The event was an exhilarating experience for our teams, and we are over the moon to announce that we took home not one, but two top spots - the Champion and First Runner-Up titles!

We couldn't be prouder of our teams' hard work, dedication, and teamwork that led to this outstanding achievement! 💪
