Few weeks ago, I posted an opening for a ๐ท๐‘’๐‘ฃ๐‘’๐‘™๐‘œ๐‘๐‘’๐‘Ÿ ๐ผ๐‘›๐‘ก๐‘’๐‘Ÿ๐‘› position and within a very short time, we received ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ“ ๐š๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐ข๐œ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ. We had to close it early just to start sorting through them!

This isnโ€™t to show off the numbers. Itโ€™s a reminder of just how ๐œ๐จ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ž๐ญ๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐ž the job market is right now, even for internships.

About 2 months ago, we experienced a cyber attack that forced us to spend ๐‘ค๐‘’๐‘’๐‘˜๐‘  recovering data and restoring operations.

It wasnโ€™t easy. It wasnโ€™t quick. And it reminded us how vulnerable we all are in todayโ€™s digital world.

We often talk about backups, access controls, and secure systems, but when the real thing hits, thatโ€™s when you truly understand the ๐‘ฃ๐‘Ž๐‘™๐‘ข๐‘’ of cybersecurity.

Recently, I came across a situation where a senior had missed a client follow up. That single miss led me to go back and review our full client list and what I found wasnโ€™t great. Multiple points, multiple clientsโ€ฆ missed.

๐Ÿ“Œ This isnโ€™t about blaming anyone. But seriously, ๐ฐ๐ก๐ฒ ๐œ๐š๐งโ€™๐ญ ๐ฐ๐ž ๐ฆ๐š๐ข๐ง๐ญ๐š๐ข๐ง ๐š ๐ฌ๐ข๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐ž ๐ญ๐จ-๐๐จ ๐ฅ๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ?

You're a professional. Itโ€™s not okay to let critical follow-ups slip through just because we didnโ€™t jot something down.

โœ… A follow-up isnโ€™t just a task, itโ€™s a sign of:
- Accountability
- Respect for othersโ€™ time
- Consistency in service
- Professional maturity

๐๐ซ๐จ ๐“๐ข๐ฉ: Keep a tracker. Use a sticky note, a tool, a whiteboard, whatever works. But donโ€™t trust your memory alone.

I have been using voice typing for years, long before it became popular. Even 6-7 years ago, I used voice input to speed up documentation work. And today, I still rely on tools like ChatGPT voice typing to streamline thoughts and tasks.

Recently, I saw a few articles highlighting voice typing as a rising trend. But here is the thing:

Lately, I have found myself repeating the same discussions with a colleague, again and again.

Itโ€™s frustrating, not because I mind helping, but because ๐ฐ๐ž ๐š๐ฅ๐ซ๐ž๐š๐๐ฒ ๐ก๐š๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐œ๐จ๐ง๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง. The real issue? No notes were taken.

๐Ÿ“Œ When you donโ€™t take notes:
- You waste othersโ€™ time (and your own)
- You forget key decisions or action points
- You show you're not fully present

This isnโ€™t about being old school. It is about being respectful and efficient.

The recent weather crisis in Sri Lanka has been a hard wake up call for many of us.
Lives, homes and entire communities have been affected, some tragically.

One of the biggest lessons?

Many were given early evacuation warnings. But still, some chose to stay behind, some unsure, some protecting belongings and some simply unaware of the true risk.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Preparedness isnโ€™t just about having a plan, itโ€™s about taking action ๐’ƒ๐’†๐’‡๐’๐’“๐’† the moment hits.

๐Ÿ”‘ ๐Š๐ž๐ฒ ๐‹๐ž๐š๐ซ๐ง๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ฌ:
โ€ข Warnings should be taken seriously, not casually
โ€ข Material things can be replaced, lives cannot
โ€ข Risk awareness must be part of both personal and national culture

I recently heard a story from a friend that reminded me how ๐๐š๐ง๐ ๐ž๐ซ๐จ๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐ฌ๐ข๐ฅ๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž ๐š๐ง๐ ๐จ๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ๐œ๐จ๐ง๐Ÿ๐ข๐๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž can be in a team setting.

A colleague was assigned to document a full production process. He was given a detailed explanation by his senior and said he understood everything.

For ๐‘ก๐‘ค๐‘œ ๐‘“๐‘ข๐‘™๐‘™ ๐‘ค๐‘’๐‘’๐‘˜๐‘ , the team assumed the documentation was progressing. But when the senior finally checked, all they found was a ๐Ÿ’-๐ฉ๐š๐ ๐ž ๐’๐‘๐’ that lacked most of the critical information.

๐Ÿšซ No clarification questions.
๐Ÿšซ No real documentation.

This kind of behavior isnโ€™t just disappointing, it can seriously affect product quality, team trust, and timelines.

A few team members recently got stuck at the office due to heavy rain and traffic. But guess what? It turned into a fun, unexpected bonding time! ๐ŸŽฒโ™Ÿ๏ธ
