We have been conducting asynchronous online SPM BM lesson for International School students since 2018. It is a flexi-time individualized programme and there is no fixed time due to different time of the students in International Schools, local and oversea universities. Our tutors would post pre-recorded lessonsโ€™ videos, learning materials, homework and guidelines online. We will be posting all printed material to the learners too on top of e-material. All the work done will be assessed and marked by the online tutors. We will conduct live 1 to 1 face to face video conferencing monthly for the discussion of their work and progress.

Lessons would be guided by our online tutors. Hence, it is an individualized programme where we can scale the lessons according to a studentโ€™s pace. However, a learner will be required to take an online placement assessment prior to enrollment.
โญ• You would not be paying for idle time during synchronous online classes.
โญ• You would not need to attend lengthy video conferences which takes up your time. This means you have more time for your own, other subjects and activities.

โญ• You do not need to worry of missing classes.
โญ• You Learn at your own pace.
โญ• You save your travelling time
โญ• You do not need to be grouped in the same group with student of different intakes
โญ• You are personally led by a tutor, not a group class

We have students from all around Malaysia and overseas (who intend to come back to Malaysia to practice their profession). Existing international school students, foundation and degree students from IMU, Monash, Taylors and et cetera are among those who are taking our specially developed SPM BM programme for International Schoolsโ€™ students and graduates.
If youโ€™re interested and would like to ask further questions, please provide us your contact number to enable our person in charge to explain to you in detail and answer all your questions on the spot. Hope to hear from you soon!

We have witnessed the unreadiness of our parents, teachers and students in terms of leaning under MCO (movement control order) during the COVID-19 pandemic. The initial cultural shock of online learning has exposed the unreadiness of adopting this new learning approach with reasons as follows:

1. Not used to the learning materials which are confined into one 14โ€ screen compared to a few learning materials opened up for reference during physical classes.
2. Insufficient number of devices when siblings have to attend classes at the same time.
3. Unable to focus and tend to switch to other channels or tabs during classes.
4. Dependence on recordings which cause students to not be as focused during class time.
5. Frustrated when the Internet connection is weak or faulty.
6. Parents are worn out with accompanying younger child for online lessons when they have to work from home.
7. Absence of a conducive learning environment at home which affects the learning outcome.

However, after two long years of โ€œno choiceโ€ or โ€œforcedโ€ online learning, the whole ecosystem has changed. The attitude, readiness, preference, choice and perspective towards online learning is getting better and better and showing positive signs. In a humorous way, we can say that they have adopted this leaning culture in a โ€œhard wayโ€ when this pandemic hit.

Now, more than half prefer online learning given that the classes can be carried out professionally and consistently, with good support in terms of technical aspects and the human touch.
When asked for the reason for their change in preference, we received the following responses:

1. Elimination of need to travel, avoiding all traffic congestions.
2. Save petrol.
3. Save parent and childrenโ€™s time.
4. Time efficient for parents, allowed to spend more time at home.
5. The realisation of the future learning mode and willing to let them start young.
6. More choices for students as many classes can be attended online now.
7. Better monitoring by parents with advanced online learning platform.

In short, when other sectors are evolving to a new practice, such as virtual office or shared working space (where dedicated rented office is no more a must since work from home can be done), online market hall such as Shopee and Lazada (where a business can start selling without a dedicated website), the same convenience and efficiency applies to the sector of education.

Hence, all who are involved in educational sectors: education providers (Universities, schools, tuition centres), teachers, parents, and students, need to be ready for this impending change.
