Children have high interest in learning programming!

80.4% of children say they are interested in programming, well above the 11-country average of 70.0%, and there is a high level of interest in programming education, a new area of education.
On the other hand, only 7.7% of parents say "programming" as a learning experience other than the school their child attends, which is below the 10.6% average in 11 countries.
We found that there may be a gap between parents and children in their attitude toward programming, a new field of education.

Both parents and children are actively study using computers and tablets!
78.0% of parents in Malaysia answered that “for their children to study more, they should study using the computer or tablet” which is well above the average of 11 countries answer. In addition, 81.6% of children said that they would like to study more when studying on a computer or tablet, which is well above the average of 11 countries answer.
Both parents and children were found to be positive about efficient study methods using PCs and tablets.

ICT utilization in schools is advanced!
83.3% of parents answered online classes as a solution for school to overcome the Corona impact, the top figure out of 11 countries. Offering of Digital content also exceeded the 11-country average.
One of the reasons why both parents and children have a high level of confidence in school education might be that schools are working to minimize delays in their studies through the use of ICT.

High interest in evaluating children's academic ability!
Malaysian parents were more interested in evaluating their children's academic ability, and both "Wish to grasp the level of academic ability in Japan" and "Wish to grasp the level of academic ability overseas" were above the average of 11 countries. In addition, 85.9% of parents said they would like to use global academic achievement measurement, the second highest figure out of 11 countries after India.
It was found that Malaysian parents are very conscious of understanding children's academic ability levels from various measures.

Points to increase motivation to study are praised by parents, familiar goal setting, regular academic ability grasp!

Both parents and children in Malaysia cited motivation to studies are by "praising parents for their studies," "having goals close to them," and "regularly evaluating their academic level".

There is a possibility that there is a need for a learning system that can set familiar goals and regularly grasp academic levels while those who are praised by parents for their progress.

Malaysian children have dreams for the future!

4.6% of children answered that they had no dreams or were undecided about the occupation they wanted to be in the future, which is below the average of 11 countries. It may have reflected Malaysia's bright potential.
As in many countries, "doctors and nurses" are top of the list in occupations that children want to become in the future at 11.9%. The second place was 7.9% of school teachers. YouTubers ranked third with 6.3%, and you can see that YouTube is widely used by children as a popular mass media. In fourth place was pilots at 5.1% and lastly, 4.8% of architects and engineer came in fifth place.

Parents are highly committed to their children's education!
It was found that Malaysian parents' involvement in children's learning was higher than the average of 11 countries. Which exceeded the average of 11 countries for all items such as teaching children to study, conveying the significance of study, teaching them how to study, and setting up study schedules.
It has been found that Malaysian parents are doing their own thing to improve their children's academic ability.

Malaysia's education investment rate is below the global average!
The percentage of children's non-school education expenses to household income was 7.8%, below the 11-country average of 8.6%.
Malaysian parents' trust in school education may have made them reluctant to invest in further improving their children's academic ability

Both parents and children emphasize school tests!
Malaysia's 88.2% of parents said they "trust school test results," the third highest figure out of 11 countries. 88.9% of children said they did not want to lose to their friends on the school test, the second highest figure in 11 countries.
Against the background of parents' trust in school education, it can be said that school tests are functioning well because children's competitive awareness is high.

Higher rate towards schools academic from both guardians and children

89.2% of Malaysian guardians said “satisfied with schools academic”, which are 2nd highest within 11 countries.
88.9% of students said “school subject are interesting / fun” which is higher than the average.
Both guardians and children have a high trust towards school syllabus and academic.

Malaysian Guardian have less understand of their children’s academic ability.

From the research of we gathered this time, Malaysia has placed 6th out of 11 countries for the 6 years old – 15 years old academic ability.

However, primary level were place at 7th, thus the results shows that Malaysian parents need to improve in that aspect.

While parents / guardians who were aware their children’s ability were 85.8% which is 2nd worst followed by Japan, the results clearly indicate that the chances of Malaysian’s parents/ guardians of being aware their children’s ability are lower compared to other countries.

Malaysian guardian have one of the highest awareness towards their children.

After we made a research on 1,000 guardians per countries (total 11,000), majority of the guardians claims that academic ability are the most important factor for children to learn and study.
Especially in Malaysia, 94.4% guardians claims that academic ability are important, 91.1% make an effort to increase their children academic ability.

Hence, it is conclude that Malaysian guardians believes that their children’s Academic Ability are important, and they tend to take actions to improve their children’s academic abilities.
