在劇中，台下學生問：「人到底為了什麼要讀書？」
老師阿久津這樣回答：

往後你們會遇到很多不知道或不能理解的事，會遇到很多很美或是很期待、覺得不可思議的事。那個時候，會想知道更多的事，變成自然想學習的人。
沒有好奇心和探究心的人，不算是人類！是比猴子還要低等的人類！不想了解自己生活的這個世界的人，能說自己會什麼嗎？
就算怎麼學習，只要活著，還是會有很多不知道的事物。在這世上，雖然有很多自以為什麼都知道的大人，那都是說謊而已。
進了好大學、好公司、不管到了幾歲，如果想學習的話，什麼都能做到，失去好奇心的那一瞬間，人就像死去一樣。
學習，並不是為了考試，而是為了要成為優秀的大人。」

乐学双语有两大使命：一是帮助以英语为主的孩子跟上华小水平；二是通过戏剧、歌唱、手作美术、互动游戏及钢琴吉他等，推动人性化的全人教育。
由于空间不足，我们租下第三个场地，并规划男女休息室、独立卫生间与厨房。我们致力发展体制外教育，为不适应华小的孩子设计更适合的学习方式，把理想落实在每天的教学里。

Joyful Bilingual Learning Academy was founded with two important missions.

First, we help “English-speaking children” catch up to the learning level required in Chinese primary schools (SJKC).

Second, we develop a well-rounded, “de-digitalized” education through offline activities such as drama, singing, arts and crafts, cheer-style games, as well as piano and guitar—nurturing the whole child beyond screens.

Very soon, we faced the challenge of insufficient space. This is the third venue we have rented, and it will also include separate rest areas for boys and girls, independent toilets, and a kitchen.

We are fully committed to building an alternative education pathway outside the mainstream system—designing approaches that better suit children who struggle to adapt to SJKC, and carrying this idealism into our everyday work and life.

Research from Harvard University and the University of Minnesota shows that kids who do chores grow up to be more responsible, disciplined, and better problem solvers. Early participation in house tasks teaches work ethic, teamwork, time management, and emotional resilience.
Psychologists explain that chores build a “contribution mindset”—the belief that every person has a role in making something better. This mindset makes children more likely to take initiative in academics, career, and relationships later in life. In contrast, kids who grow up without responsibilities often display entitlement, low self-confidence, and a lack of motivation.
Even 10–15 minutes of daily chores can shape a child’s future success. Success isn’t taught in classrooms alone—it's built through responsibility, consistency, and contribution at home.
