Professor Osama Khan joins USW today as our new Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive.

Professor Khan said: “I am genuinely honoured to be joining this community. Over the past few months, I have spent time listening, learning and reflecting. I have read about our history and our achievements.

“But what has stayed with me most is the people, the care, the commitment and the quiet determination to make a difference. And that matters because universities like ours, change lives. I am proud to join the University as Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive.”

Professor Khan joins us from Aston University, where he was Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic). With more than 27 years of teaching experience in finance and leadership roles across UK universities, he has a strong track record in curriculum innovation, lifelong learning, employability, and digital transformation.

His arrival marks an exciting new chapter for USW as we continue to deliver on our mission to transform lives and communities through education, research, and innovation.
