Here is our latest online workshop on ‘Molecular Docking & Virtual Screening’!!
What is Molecular docking? A study of how two or more molecular structures, for instance, drug and catalyst or macromolecule receptor, match along to be a perfect fit (Gane & Dean, 2000).
What is Virtual Screening?
Virtual screening consists of using computational tools to predict potentially bioactive compounds from files containing large libraries of small molecules (Gimeno et al., 2019).

WHY computational methods & studies have become increasingly important in the life sciences ???
There is a complex network of chemical entities that evolve dynamically creating life at the molecular level. For example, proteins and nucleic acids fold (adopting specific structure consistent with their function), ions are transported through membranes, enzymes trigger cascades of chemical reactions, etc. Because of the complexity of biological systems, computer methods have become increasingly important in the life sciences. With faster and more powerful computers, larger and more complex systems may be explored using computer modelling or computer simulations (Meller, 2001).
