Unrecognised Alexandria University pharmacy programme leaves Malaysian students in limbo | New Straits Times KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Pharmacy Board (PBM) was not consulted over the Higher Education Ministry's offering of the clinical pharmacy (PharmD) programme at Alexandria University in Egypt.

CAAP Medical holder?

There are new updates on aviation medical requirements under CAAP Memorandum Circular No. 028-2026.

One of the biggest changes is for PPL holders.

Under the new memo, the validity of the medical certificate can now reach up to 60 months or 5 years for certain age brackets and conditions.

This is a big help for private pilots because medical renewals are less frequent and additional expenses will be reduced.

For ATPL holders, medical validity requirements are now more streamlined. Once a year is the required medical renewal depending on age and type of operations.

Another major update is for Flight Operations Officers (FOO).

CAAP Medical Certificate for issuance of FOO license is no longer required, which means licensing requirements are now more focused on competence and operational qualifications.

The amendments also include updates regarding:
• Class 1, Class 2, and Class 3 medical validity
• medical requirements for pilots, ATC, and remote pilots
• competency and recent experience provisions
• physical and mental assessment requirements

Ayon sa explanatory note ng memo, the purpose of these amendments is to align Philippine aviation regulations with ICAO standards while still maintaining aviation safety.

Important reminder:
It's not yet clear in the memo when will it be exact operational effectiveness in all cases, that's why it's still better to confirm directly with CAAP Medical Division to be updated and sure in your renewals and license requirements.

May bagong updates sa aviation medical requirements under CAAP Memorandum Circular No. 028-2026.

One of the biggest changes is for PPL holders.

Malaking tulong ito para sa private pilots dahil less frequent na ang medical renewals at mababawasan ang additional expenses.

For ATPL holders, mas streamlined na rin ang medical validity requirements. Once a year nalang ang required medical renewal depending on age and type of operations.

Hindi na required ang CAAP Medical Certificate for issuance of FOO license, which means mas naka-focus na ngayon sa competency and operational qualifications ang licensing requirements.

Kasama rin sa amendments ang updates regarding:

• medical requirements for pilots, ATC, and remote pilots
• competency and recent experience provisions
• physical and mental assessment requirements
