Practical Work Automation with n8n & AI | Batch 8 l Chinese Session

This batch was a little different for me.

Most of the participants came from an IT background, so I’ll admit I was slightly nervous before the class started.

But after two days, I was reminded of something important.

AI Automation is not only about who can write the most code.

It starts with understanding the work process and choosing the right tools to build the workflow.

One conversation that stayed with me was with an Assistant Manager from the IT department.

He shared that they had used other automation platforms before, and some of those platforms were quite expensive.

From a budget perspective, he found n8n much more attractive and practical while still offering the flexibility to build different kinds of workflows.

It was meaningful to hear that he genuinely learned something from the session, especially as someone who already had experience with automation platforms and understood business processes very well.

After learning the fundamentals, he also extended his workflow much further by adding his own logic and multiple Code nodes.

Honestly, I was happy to see that.

The purpose of the training is not for every participant to build exactly what I build.

It is to provide the practical foundation for understanding workflow automation, and then allow participants to develop it further based on their own experience, technical background and organisational needs.

Practical Work Automation with n8n & AI | Batch 7

There are more and more AI tools and AI agents coming out in the market.

But for me, one of the most practical first steps into AI automation is still learning how to build workflows with n8n and AI.

Why?

Because before jumping into different tools, we first need to understand how work actually moves.

Where does the information come from?
What needs to be checked?
What should happen next?
Where should the record be updated?
Who needs to be notified?

Once the workflow is clear, automation becomes much easier to apply.

That was the focus of this batch.

Participants explored how daily office tasks can be connected into simple workflows, using n8n and AI to support repeated work, updates, reminders and follow ups.

Most importantly, this is a hands on course.

Participants do not just listen to automation concepts. They work on their own use case and build their own AI automation workflow that they can bring back and continue improving after the class.

AI automation does not always need to start with something big.

Sometimes, the best first step is learning how to see your own work process clearly, then turning one repeated task into a working automation.

For Batch 6, we brought practical AI workflow automation into a rubber processing environment.

Different workplace, same challenge.

Repeated tasks.

During this 2-day session, the team explored how daily work processes can be broken down and turned into clearer workflows using n8n and AI.

The focus was not to make things complicated.

The focus was to help participants see their own work process more clearly, then identify where automation can reduce manual effort and improve consistency.

Practical Work Automation with n8n & AI | Batch 5

Before automation, comes workflow thinking.

For Batch 5, the focus was on helping participants see daily work in a more structured way.

What is the input?
What needs to happen next?
Where is the decision point?
What should be updated, sent, recorded or followed up?

These are simple questions, but they are important.

Because useful automation does not start from the tool.

It starts from understanding the work process clearly.

Throughout the 2-day session, participants explored how n8n and AI can support tasks such as data updates, reminders, document handling and follow-ups.

The goal is not to make automation complicated.

The goal is to help working professionals start identifying which parts of their daily work can be improved, simplified or automated.

Practical Work Automation with n8n & AI | Batch 4 | Chinese Session Batch 1

This was our first Chinese session for Practical Work Automation with n8n & AI.

To be honest, the crowd was small. Chinese session is still something we are testing for the Sabah market.

But the outcome made us proud.

All 3 participants managed to build their own automation based on real work processes, with some workflows reducing around 90% of the time spent on one repetitive task.

One built an automation to gather information and prepare reports automatically.

One built 3 automations, including 2 AI chatbots for her boss and colleagues, plus a vehicle expiry reminder for PUSPAKOM, road tax and insurance, with reminders sent through Telegram.

One built a client subscription reminder that can generate renewal documents with the correct details and provide a direct WhatsApp follow-up link.

Small class, but very real progress.

For us, this is part of our mission to be a bridge for Sabahans to learn and apply practical AI in English, BM and Chinese.

Our next Chinese intake will be on 20 – 21 July 2026.

If the response is not 热烈 enough, maybe Chinese session will become “limited edition” only 😄
