The programme featured a technical talk by ๐€๐ฌ๐ฌ๐จ๐œ. ๐๐ซ๐จ๐Ÿ. ๐ƒ๐ซ ๐–๐ข๐ฅ๐ฌ๐จ๐ง ๐˜๐จ๐ง๐  ๐“๐ก๐š๐ฎ ๐‹๐ฒ๐ฆ, ๐ƒ๐ž๐ฉ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ฒ ๐ƒ๐ข๐ซ๐ž๐œ๐ญ๐จ๐ซ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐‘๐ž๐ฌ๐ž๐š๐ซ๐œ๐ก ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ˆ๐ง๐ง๐จ๐ฏ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง, ๐ˆ๐๐, followed by hands-on sessions led by ๐ƒ๐ซ ๐Œ๐จ๐ก๐š๐ฆ๐ฆ๐š๐ ๐‘๐š๐ก๐ฆ๐š๐ญ, ๐ƒ๐ซ ๐ˆ๐ง๐ญ๐š๐ง ๐Œ๐š๐ซ๐ข๐š๐ง๐š ๐š๐ง๐ ๐Œ๐ฌ ๐€๐ง๐ข๐ฌ ๐€๐๐ข๐ฅ๐š๐ก. Participants were introduced to the essential principles and workflow of plant tissue culture, with emphasis on proper laboratory practices and techniques.

Throughout the practical sessions, participants gained first-hand experience in tissue culture media preparation, explant selection and sterilisation, culture initiation, propagation, sub-culturing and pot transfer. The workshop provided a valuable platform for developing practical skills, sharing knowledge and strengthening participantsโ€™ understanding of plant tissue culture techniques.

Dengan penuh rasa dukacita, kami merakamkan salam takziah kepada seluruh keluarga mendiang Profesor Madya Dr. Jaya Seelan A/L Sathiya Seelan, Timbalan Pengarah, Institut Biologi Tropika dan Pemuliharaan, Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), yang telah meninggal dunia pada 17 September 2026.

Pemergian beliau merupakan satu kehilangan besar, bukan sahaja buat keluarga dan sahabat handai, malah kepada warga akademik dan penyelidikan yang pernah mengenali serta bekerjasama dengan beliau.

Semoga segala jasa, sumbangan dan ilmu yang dicurahkan sepanjang hayat beliau terus dikenang dan menjadi amal yang berkekalan.

Takziah buat seluruh keluarga mendiang.
Semoga keluarga diberikan kekuatan, ketabahan dan ketenangan dalam menghadapi saat yang penuh kedukaan ini.
