Today is a special day as my 2025 SPM students’ results are out! 🎉
I’m truly grateful and proud of their achievements:
✨ One of my students, who has been with me since Form 1, improved from consistent A/B+ results to scoring an A+ in SPM. Her dedication and steady progress over the years really paid off.
✨ Another student joined my class just a year ago. Our goal from the beginning was to achieve a C—and she did it! This result means so much because it reflects her effort and determination to improve.
As a teacher, I believe success is not just about top grades, but about growth, perseverance, and reaching personal goals. Seeing my students improve at their own pace is what makes this journey so rewarding.
Congratulations to all my 2025 SPM students. I’m proud of every step you’ve taken, and I wish you all the best in your future! 💙

After being rehired by the school as a part-time teacher at the end of 2024, I took on the responsibility of teaching Year 11 IGCSE Accounting once again. Although I was familiar with the school environment, I was faced with an unexpected challenge — the students were significantly behind schedule in completing the syllabus, with limited time remaining before the examination.
The initial stage was extremely stressful, as lessons had to be conducted at a fast pace while ensuring students could still understand key concepts. Many students showed signs of discouragement and were close to giving up on the subject. Throughout the lessons, I focused not only on syllabus coverage, but also on continuous encouragement, motivation, and providing positive direction to help students regain confidence and perseverance.
With focused exam techniques, structured practice, and the students’ determination, two students were able to push themselves to achieve an A grade in the final IGCSE Accounting examination. This outcome reflects the effectiveness of targeted teaching strategies under pressure and the importance of maintaining student morale until the very end.
This marked the second occasion in this school where I faced an extremely high-stress teaching environment, focusing not only on academic recovery but also on sustaining students’ motivation so they would not give up before the examination.
A Mother’s Tears 🥹
I started my day early, teaching at two different schools. Later, I received a phone call from a student’s mother. She told me about another student’s situation—she wanted her child to switch from online classes back to physical classes.
Honestly, I felt quite frustrated because this student had been frequently absent from class. Wanting to understand the situation better, I decided to drive over to their house to talk in person.
The mother is a single parent, raising two children on her own. As we sat down and started talking, tears started to fall from her eyes.
At that moment, I understood the weight she was carrying and the struggles behind the child’s academic issues. Together, we came up with a balanced solution: her child would attend physical classes on Saturdays and continue online lessons on Tuesday nights. If any unexpected guests showed up on Saturdays, she could simply tell them that her child had already made plans to go out with schoolmate for group discussion.
This student is sitting for the SPM exams this year, but her academic level is still not up to par. As the saying goes, “The eu**ch is more anxious than the emperor” — I just want to help this student catch up before it’s too late.
The mother kept saying she would pay me for the extra lessons. But I told her, there’s no need. Every year, for students taking major exams, I offer extra lessons as long as they are willing to learn. I always tell my students: Fight all the way to the finish line. Never give up halfway.
I truly hope this student will not let down the hopes of her mother—or her teacher. 💪
"The path may be tough, but persistence will always lead to light."
A Moment Beyond the Classroom
Today, while I wanted to teach IGCSE Accounting class at a school, I experienced something that reminded me how much more teaching is than just delivering lessons.
During that time, the school has a fire drill training, I noticed a boy sitting alone in the dark my classroom, quietly crying while the rest of the students were outside. I approached him and gently asked what was wrong. Through his tears, he said, "I got a B in English this semester."
I sat beside him, held his hand, and said, “It’s okay to cry. Sometimes we need to release our stress—and that’s human. But after we cry, we have to think about how we can change the situation.”
He stopped crying for a moment, listening quietly.
I continued, “Exams are just one part of your learning journey. There will be more ahead, and each one is an opportunity—not just to prove yourself, but to grow. Accept the challenge, face it, and fight through it.”
In that moment, I wasn’t just a teacher—I was someone helping a young person carry the weight of self-doubt and turn it into courage.
To All IGCSE Students – Especially Those Awaiting Results Tomorrow
Tomorrow, many students will receive their IGCSE results. Some of you will celebrate, some might feel disappointed. Please remember this:
📌 A result does not define your worth.
📌 If you didn’t get what you hoped for, it’s not the end—it’s a turning point.
📌 You are allowed to feel, but don’t forget to rise.
📌 Sometimes, God gives us these moments to test our spirit and prepare us for something greater.
