The Majesty of the Arabic Language 💚💚💚
1- Every word that begins with the letter "ك" (Kaf) often conveys the meaning of containment, such as:
"كيس (bag), كوكب (planet), كهف (cave), كفن (shroud), كف (palm)"
2- Every word that begins with the letter "غ" (Ghain) often conveys the meaning of obscurity or lack of clarity, such as:
"غيم (cloud), غمام (mist), غبار (dust), غدر (betrayal), غباء (stupidity)" — which is the lack of clarity or difficulty in distinguishing reality.
3- Every word that contains both the letters "ج" (Jeem) and "ن" (Noon) conveys the meaning of concealment and hiding, such as:
"الجنين (fetus), الجن (jinn), الجنة (paradise)"—an enclosed land filled with trees, making its interior unseen.
"الجنون (madness)"—which means the mind is hidden and obscured.
4- In Arabic, there is a linguistic phenomenon called "word fusion" (النحت), where certain letters, when combined in different orders, still convey the same meaning. For example, the letters "ب - ح - ر" (B-H-R) always suggest vastness and enormity, as seen in:
"بحر (sea), رحب (spacious), حبر (ink), حرب (war)"
5- A single Arabic word can form a complete sentence. For example:
The word "فأسقيناكموه" is a single term that includes:
A conjunction
A verb
A subject
A first object
A second object
6- Verbs are typically composed of multiple letters, such as "يأكل (he eats), يذهب (he goes), ينام (he sleeps)."
However, Arabic also has verbs made up of just one letter, such as:
"مِ" → meaning to gesture.
"قِ" → meaning to protect.
"عِ" → meaning to comprehend and grasp what is said.
"رِ" → meaning to look.
7- The Arabic language contains 12,302,912 unique words, without repetition.
This is over 20 times the number of words in English, which has around 600,000 words.
This linguistic richness is a testament to the depth and vastness of Arabic compared to other languages.
Its grandeur is sufficient in that it is:
The language of the Quran
The language of the people of Jannah
The language of reckoning on the Day of Judgment
Praise be to Allah for the blessing of Islam—what a great blessing it is!

** Tips for Memorizing the Quran**
When memorizing the Quran, it is essential to have a sincere intention for Allah and to act upon the Quran, not just memorize it. Allah revealed it to be acted upon and judged by.
A person has two types of memory: temporary memory, where the brain discards unimportant information, such as what you ate yesterday or who you saw at the market, and permanent memory, which retains important things like the names of uncles and aunts or Surah Al-Fatiha. The issue is not the brain's ability to memorize but the retrieval of important information, which can take time, especially if this information is important and lost among millions of unimportant details.
When memorizing the Quran, it is necessary to transfer the memorized material from temporary to permanent memory, which takes some time. Each person has a different skill in memorizing. Some rely more on listening, and the more they listen to the material, the easier they memorize it. Others depend on visual reading, and the more they read, the easier it is to memorize. Some rely on writing, as Allah says, "Who taught by the pen." (Sura Alaq 4) The more they write, the better they memorize. You should test which skill you excel in, and you can combine more than one method, such as reading, listening, and writing. My father used to have me write the page to be memorized three times with diacritical marks.
When memorizing, it is also necessary to have a revision schedule, dividing the review into newly memorized surahs, surahs that are not well remembered, and surahs that are well remembered. The goal of the review is to reduce the gaps between the memorized parts of the Quran.
Maintaining newly memorized surahs is one of the biggest challenges. Some students can memorize easily but do not retain it for long. Here is a good method for memorizing and reviewing based on the following steps:
1. Choose an average amount that you can memorize daily. If you can memorize one to three lines a day, choose two lines for your goal.
2. Start by reading the lines or the amount to be memorized three times a day or more as ordinary reading. The next day, begin memorizing by repeating each word or verse three times or more until you can recite it without looking at the Mushaf. Then, recite it three times without looking. Move to the next verse or word and repeat the process, linking the first and second verses by reciting them together three times. Continue this until you finish memorizing and can recite the amount three times without looking at the Mushaf. The most important thing is to focus without distractions such as a phone. With focus, you can memorize quickly, but if you are distracted, even repeating a verse 100 times may not work. Use an app like Ayat for repetitive recitation and choose Sheikh Al-Husary for his clear and deliberate recitation.
3. After memorizing, read what you will memorize tomorrow three times.
4. Repeat the review twice or thrice on the same day you memorized.
5. The next day, before new memorization, review what you memorized yesterday, then start the new memorization with the same steps, read what you will memorize tomorrow three times, and repeat the review twice or thrice on the same day.
6. After three days, review what you started memorizing to connect the Quran parts and prevent forgetting.
7. At the end of the week, do a weekly review.
8. After two weeks, review everything you memorized.
9. After a month, do another review.
10. After a month and a half, repeat the process.
11. Don’t forget to set a program for reviewing surahs memorized in the past, dividing them into those you don’t remember well and need more time and those you remember well and need less time, focusing more on the former.
12. Don’t spend too much time reviewing well-memorized surahs; use that time for the ones you don’t remember well.
13. Remember, review consists of three parts: newly memorized parts, surahs not well memorized, and those well memorized.
14. Memorization must be coupled with revision.
15. Writing (copying) strengthens your connection to the Arabic language, enhances memorization, and helps you remember the meanings of words, especially when studying Arabic, as studying Arabic aids in memorizing the Quran, and memorizing the Quran aids in studying Arabic.
