A student once said, “Why need Bahasa? Everyone speaks English anyway.” Never allow your child to fall into that mindset. One day, reality may hit them hard.

Imagine being stopped during a roadblock.
The officer speaks Bahasa Melayu.
You panic.
You struggle to reply.
Suddenly, even a simple conversation feels stressful.
The officer looks at your MyKad and starts wondering if you're a 'fraud'.

This is not about race.
It is not about politics either.

It is about survival, confidence, and functioning in your own country.

Many students today can score well on paper, yet cannot confidently communicate in the national language. Some even feel proud about it. That is the worrying part.

Parents must realise:
Language is not just another school subject.

There are situations in life where you simply cannot escape speaking Bahasa:

• getting through a roadblock smoothly
• speaking to government officers for important matters
• applying for licences or official documents
• handling police reports or emergencies
• speaking to customs officers at checkpoints or borders

A child who can communicate well in both English and Bahasa (and even Mandarin) has a real advantage in life.

For students out there, you'll only realise how important Bahasa is… when one day, you desperately need it (especially in your adulthood). You just don't know when. But that day will surely come & you would be grateful that you know the language.

𝑶𝒏𝒆 𝒅𝒂𝒚, 𝑴𝒖𝒎 𝒘𝒐𝒏’𝒕 𝒃𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆.
One day, these young people will need to prepare their own meals, solve their own problems, and take care of themselves.

That journey doesn’t begin at university.

It begins with small moments like this.

A frying pan.
A few eggs.
Some sausages.
A student stepping outside their comfort zone.

Today’s cooking session was never just about food.

It was about confidence.
Responsibility.
Independence.

Because education is not only about passing exams.

It’s about preparing students for life.

💛 One life skill at a time.

Some students wait for motivation, while others choose discipline. Teachers can guide and parents can support, but real learning only begins when the student decides it matters.

Once that determination is there, excuses become weaker, focus becomes sharper, and nothing can truly stop their growth.

Some students want success.
But they also want to:
• ignore advice
• hate discipline
• avoid effort
• refuse correction
• blame everyone else when results collapse

That combination does not work. The truth?

Even the best teacher in the world cannot help a student who thinks attitude is optional.

Because growth begins the moment a student becomes teachable.

Not when they “feel like it.”
Not when exams are near.
Not after failing three times.

A good attitude will take a student further than talent ever can.

Teachers can guide.

Parents can support.

But students must still choose whether they want to grow… or stay stuck.

Some students need better notes.
Some students need better habits.
That’s the uncomfortable truth.

China limits students to only 3 hours a week for video games. How many hours does your child play a week?

China believed excessive gaming was affecting students’ focus, discipline, sleep, and learning habits.

To enforce this, gaming companies must use:
• real-name ID registration
• facial recognition checks
• automatic logout systems
• restricted gaming hours for minors

Children under 18 are only allowed to play:
• 1 hour per day
• Fridays, weekends, and public holidays only
• usually between 8pm–9pm

If gaming companies fail to enforce the rules, they can face fines, investigations, and restrictions from the government. Students who try to bypass the system may have their accounts suspended or blocked.

The bigger question is:
Are we teaching children to control technology… or is technology controlling them?

What do you think — too strict, or necessary?

𝑷𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒆 𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒆𝒔 𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒆𝒄𝒕? 𝑵𝒐𝒕 𝒒𝒖𝒊𝒕𝒆.

You could be missing the most important part.

Some students study for hours…
yet still struggle to improve.

Others improve faster,
even with the same teacher,
same books,
and same amount of revision time.

Why?

Because success is not only about how long you study.
It is about how you study.

Memorising blindly, repeating mistakes, and rereading notes again and again may feel productive… but they do not always lead to real understanding.

Strong learners do something differently.

They reflect on mistakes.
They test themselves honestly.
They focus on understanding, not just memorising.
And they build consistent habits over time.

Real academic growth is rarely about being “naturally smart”.

More often, it comes from strategy, discipline, and practising the right way repeatedly.

The 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒍𝒅 𝒐𝒖𝒕𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒆 is a 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏!
Whether people like it or not.

Some students still think studying is “optional”.
They waste time, give excuses, and refuse to improve themselves.

𝑯𝒆𝒓𝒆’𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒕𝒉:
Once you become an adult, nobody is going to force you to study anymore.
You are FREE to skip books.
FREE to ignore learning.
FREE to stay average.

But society will still judge your skills, attitude, discipline, and results.
Until then… while you still have teachers guiding you, parents supporting you, and opportunities around you — do your best. Because one day, the world will not lower its standards for you.

“Just eat one more spoon…”
…famous last words of almost every parent. 😅

But here’s the surprising part:
Child experts say forcing, bribing, or distracting children with screens during meals may actually create a negative emotional relationship with food over time.

Instead, many child psychologists and feeding specialists recommend something unexpected:

✅ Stay calm
✅ Remove pressure
✅ Keep offering food normally
✅ Let the child learn hunger naturally

Why?

Because young children are often better at regulating their hunger than adults realise. When eating becomes a battle, children may associate food with stress, fear, anger, or pressure — which can worsen picky eating habits later.

A calm and consistent mealtime environment helps children feel emotionally safe around food. Over time, this usually builds healthier eating habits more effectively than force or punishment.

FAQ 👇

1️⃣ “What if my child doesn’t eat now? Won’t they get gastric later?”

Missing one meal or eating less occasionally usually does not cause gastric problems in healthy children. Children naturally eat more on some days and less on others.

Experts advise parents to observe the child’s overall eating pattern across the week — not panic over a single meal.

2️⃣ “What if my child keeps rejecting food because it feels yucky? Should I force them?”

Forcing often creates stronger resistance.

Experts recommend repeated gentle exposure instead. A child may need to see or try the same food many times before accepting it comfortably. Pressure can turn temporary dislike into long-term avoidance.

3️⃣ “What if my child develops the habit of starving themselves?”

Healthy children generally will not intentionally starve themselves for long periods. Hunger is a natural body signal.

What matters most is maintaining routines, offering balanced meals calmly, and avoiding emotional battles around food. However, if the child consistently refuses food, loses weight, becomes weak, or shows extreme eating behaviours, parents should seek professional medical advice.

So… what would YOU do as the Mum? 👀

We don’t study just to pass exams.
We study to solve problems.

Math teaches us how to think.
Languages teach us how to communicate.
Science teaches us how things work.
History teaches us what mistakes not to repeat.
Geography teaches us how the world works around us.

Every subject trains the brain to face real-life challenges.

One day, life will throw problems at you:
financial problems, relationship problems, work problems, emotional problems.

Education does not remove problems.
But it gives you the ability to handle them better.

That is why we study.

Not just to score.
But to survive, adapt, and solve problems in the real world.

“I don’t need to know Malay.”
That is what some students proudly say…Until real life hits them hard.

Malay is not just another school subject in Malaysia. It is a real-life survival skill.

Inside the classroom, students may think they can avoid it. Among friends, they may feel comfortable speaking only English or Chinese. But the real world does not work that way.

Government hospitals.
Police officers.
Customs counters.
Government departments.
Authorities.

One day, your child WILL need to speak and communicate confidently in Malay.

And when that moment comes, panic, embarrassment, and confusion are not things any parent wants to see.

The harsh truth?
Not knowing Malay in Malaysia can feel like being slapped in the face by another fellow Malaysian.

Because suddenly, your child realises: they cannot respond confidently, cannot explain themselves properly, and cannot function comfortably in important situations.

Poor communication creates inconvenience — not only for the student, but for the entire family. Language gives confidence. Confidence gives independence.
Teach them before the real world teaches them the hard way.
