Saturday well spent at KVC!
In conjunction with the PIBG meeting, Sat-Ur-Day Game brought parents, lecturers, students, and kids together right in front of Dewan Visi.

From simple building blocks to strategic board games, everyone found something to enjoy.

Moments like this remind us that games connect generations, spark conversations, and build a stronger community.

Part of The Good Games Project, supported by CHANGE Microgrant Programme.

🎲 Mental Health & Board Gaming

Board games have always been more than just play—they’re about connection. From childhood memories of family game nights to moments shared with patients as a Mental Health Nurse, games create space for laughter, trust, and understanding.

In a world full of screens, these face-to-face interactions feel even more meaningful. A simple game can ease stress, build confidence, and remind us that we’re not alone.

Even today, gathering with friends for a game night continues to bring joy, escape, and a sense of belonging. Because at the heart of every game, it’s the people that matter most.

✨ No matter how your day feels, there’s always a little light waiting—sometimes, it starts with a game.

We held an Iftar-Board Game session yesterday, spending our evening levelling up our skills — one game at a time.

Starting at 4PM, the space slowly came alive with laughter, strategy, and meaningful conversations. From simple games to more challenging ones, every table had its own story, bringing people together through play.

As the sun set, we paused to break fast, a simple yet meaningful moment that reminded us that this is more than just games, but about connection and community.

We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to the Psychology and Career Unit for their support and collaboration in making this programme a success.

This event is part of The Good Games Project, supported by the CHANGE Microgrant Programme, through which we received RM3,000 to expose board games to underprivileged youth and help upskill their knowledge.

Groundwork Continues 🎲

We introduced board games to a few diners and received valuable feedback. Some shared that our mentors can improve in explaining the games — noted and appreciated 🙌

Overall, they were surprised at how fun and interesting the games were, and encouraged us to keep pushing this initiative forward.

Progress, feedback, improve, repeat. ♟🔥

Week 3 Update 🎲

We had a lot of test plays happening with youngsters from different backgrounds — even with time limitations, we pushed through without killing the momentum.

A few short sessions were carried out at the school canteen and RDC, keeping the energy alive and the games rolling.

Small plays, steady progress. ♟🔥

🎲 First Groundwork Initiative – 30 January 2026

Last Friday, we carried out our first small step under this initiative at Sweettalker Café, Bandar Baru Keningau .

From 8:00PM – 9:30PM, together with around 6–7 of our mentors, we tested Betrayal at House on the Hill as part of our venue exploration process.

The café was truly sweet — just like its name 🍰
Excellent service, a supportive and friendly manager, and a comfortable chill atmosphere.

While board games may not be the most suitable activity for the space setup, we still highly recommend Sweettalker Café for anyone who loves café hunting or simply wants to relax and unwind.

Beyond teaching and playing board games, our mission is also to support small local businesses while bringing the element of fun, learning, and community together.

This was not a formal event — just our first step in finding the right space to grow.

More to come. ♟✨
