KPM POLICY : EDUCATION SYSTEM - PRIMARY EDUCATION
Primary education takes six years. Children usually start primary education at the age of seven. Primary education is a continuation of pre-school education.
In addition to reading, writing and arithmetic, children will be exposed to other subjects such as science, physical education, Islamic and moral education.
At the end of their studies in year 6, they will sit for the Primary School Achievement Test (UPSR).
It will test: -
Mastery of comprehension, writing and oral for Malay and English
Mastery of mathematical skills
Mastery of science conceptsPrimary Education
The course of study at the primary level planned for a duration of six years but may be completed in five to seven years;
It consists of national schools or national-type schools
