Institute of Nano Electronic Engineering (INEE) was established in November 2008 as a converging hub for innovation, research and expertise in Malaysia, particularly for the Northern Corridor Economic Region (NCER). The objectives of the Institute are to continuously promote nano electronics expert within the Malaysian market, introducing the best in micro and nano fabrication practices from aroun

d the world to Malaysian society and building direct links between the technology and education sectors.INEE emphasizes on nano electronics engineering research activities that focus on nano biochip, novel devices, memory devices and nano photonic devices. In the near future, INEE will expand its research activities to nano materials and nano biotechnologies through interdisciplinary programs and collaborations. As a nano electronic research center, INEE’s role is to encourage and embrace collaborative work and interdisciplinary research among scientists and technologies. INEE strives to be a leading nano electronic research center in the region in line with Malaysia’s goal of having world class scientists. INEE is designed to accommodate a series of fabrication and analytical laboratories equipped with sophisticated scientific equipment to allow scientis to design, fabricate, characterize and test their own devices. Currently, INEE is designed to accommodate state-of-the-art facilities and equipments, to be coherent with cutting edge technologies for the researcher to utilise and materialisme comprehensive research. Innovative efforts, blending fundamental and applied sciences with technological advances in the field of nanofabrication should lead to the creation of high performance devices with greater speed, simplicity and low cost for market needs in the 21st Century. China–Malaysia Partners Strengthen Research Collaboration Through Joint Laboratory Progress Meeting

Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), through Institute of Nano Electronic Enigineering (INEE) is hosting a high-level delegation from China to advance discussions on the progress and future direction of the China–Malaysia International Joint Laboratory of Obesity and Metabolic Surgery.

The meeting served as an important platform to review ongoing collaborative achievements, discuss future research initiatives, and strengthen academic, scientific cooperation between both institution and potential and enrolled students.

The Chinese delegation comprised distinguished representatives from Yunnan University Affiliated Hospital and Norxin International Cooperation Base, including:

* Professor Li Xiaogang, Deputy Director, Department of General Surgery, Yunnan University Affiliated Hospital

Bengkel Penulisan Paten Dokumen

Pada 10/8/2026, Isnin yang lepas, INEE dengan kerjasama Pusat Inovasi & Pengkomersialan (CIC) UniMAP telah menganjurkan Bengkel Penulisan Paten Dokumen kepada semua staf akademik. Bengkel yang diadakan di INEE ini telah disampaikan oleh Prof. Madya Ts. Dr. Fathinul Syahir Ahmad Saad, Pengarah CIC dan Dr. Sukhairi Sudin, Timbalan Pengarah CIC.

Sesi perkongsian pengalaman dalam pengkomersialan juga turut disampaikan oleh Ts. Dr. Noor Shazliana Aizee Abidin. Bengkel ini juga merupakan salah satu daripada inisiatif yang dijalankan bagi menjayakan Tahun Pengkomersialan INEE 2026-2027. Semoga bengkel ini dapat dimanfaatkan oleh semua pihak.

Program Pembangunan Komuniti Bersempena SEGTA 2026 Antara INEE dan Fakultas Teknologi Maju dan Multidisiplin, Universitas Airlangga

Institut Kejuruteraan Nano Elektronik (INEE), Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), dengan kerjasama Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) telah melaksanakan program pembangunan komuniti di Surabaya, Indonesia pada 29 Julai hingga 4 Ogos 2026 sebagai sebahagian daripada inisiatif di bawah Memorandum Persefahaman (MoU) antara kedua-dua institusi. Program pembangunan komuniti ini telah diadakan bersempena dengan penganjuran Sustainable Energy and Green Technology Applications (SEGTA) 2026 oleh Fakultas Teknologi Maju & Multidisiplin (FTMM), UNAIR.

Majlis pembukaan SEGTA 2026 telah diadakan pada 30 Julai 2026 dan turut menyaksikan pemeteraian persetujuan pelaksanaan program pembangunan komuniti antara kedua-dua institusi. Majlis tersebut telah dihadiri oleh Dekan FTMM, UNAIR, Prof. Ir. Dr. Retna Apsari, serta Rektor Universitas Airlangga, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Madyan. Manakala INEE telah diwakili oleh Dr. Nur Hamidah Abdul Halim, Timbalan Pengarah INEE.

Program pembangunan komuniti bertajuk Developing STEM Electrical Circuits telah dilaksanakan di dua buah sekolah, iaitu SDN Kertasada dan SDN Marengan Daya. Program ini melibatkan seramai 88 orang pelajar berusia 12 tahun, terdiri daripada 40 orang pelajar di SDN Kertasada dan 48 orang pelajar di SDN Marengan Daya. Selaian program pembangunan komuniti, terdapat juga program-program lain yang dijalankan di bawah SEGTA 2026 antaranya ialah program silang budaya, outbound mobility dan lain-lain lagi.

Semoga program-program yang telah dijalankan ini dapat meningkatkan lagi kesedaran komuniti berkenaan nanoteknologi dan juga meningkatkan lagi keterlihatan antarabangsa bagi kedua-dua institusi. Tahniah semua!

INEE UniMAP Sertai Program Hari Terbuka "Selangkah ke UniMAP 2026"

Institut Kejuruteraan Nano Elektronik (INEE), Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) telah menyertai Program Hari Terbuka "Selangkah ke UniMAP 2026" yang dianjurkan oleh Bahagian Promosi dan Pemasaran (PMD), Pejabat Timbalan Naib Canselor (Akademik & Antarabangsa), pada 22 hingga 23 Julai 2026 di Perkarangan Pusat TVET, Kampus Alam UniMAP, Pauh Putra.

Penyertaan INEE dalam program ini berjaya meningkatkan keterlihatan institut di samping menjadi platform untuk berkongsi maklumat berkaitan peluang pengajian dan penyelidikan di UniMAP. INEE UniMAP Semarakkan Budaya STEM di Karnival STEM Peringkat Kebangsaan 2026

Jitra, Kedah | 18 Julai 2026 – Penyertaan Institut Kejuruteraan Nano Elektronik (INEE) dalam Karnival STEM Sekolah Menengah Peringkat Kebangsaan 2026 yang berlangsung di Politeknik Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah (POLIMAS), Jitra, Kedah anjuran Koperasi Medik Kedah Berhad (KOMEDA) dengan kerjasama Kolej Sultan Abdul Hamid dan POLIMAS.

Ini membuktikan komitmen berterusan UniMAP dalam menyokong hasrat Dasar Sains, Teknologi dan Inovasi Negara (DSTIN) 2021–2030, khususnya dalam usaha membudayakan STEM dalam kalangan masyarakat. Program ini turut menjadi platform terbaik untuk memperkenalkan kepakaran penyelidikan, inovasi dan program akademik UniMAP kepada bakal pelajar, sekali gus menggalakkan lebih ramai generasi muda memilih bidang STEM sebagai laluan pendidikan dan kerjaya pada masa hadapan.

Bertemakan "STEM Sebagai Pemacu Revolusi Perindustrian Keempat" dan telah menghimpunkan kira-kira 600 hingga 700 orang pelajar Sekolah Menengah Sains daripada Kedah, Perlis, Penang, Langkawi dan Perak, khususnya pelajar-pelajar MRSM Zon Utara.

Bagi menjayakan program tersebut, seramai lapan (8) orang wakil INEE UniMAP yang terdiri daripada pensyarah dan staf sokongan telah mengendalikan ruang pameran (booth) bagi memperkenalkan kepakaran institut dalam bidang nanoteknologi, mikroelektronik dan semikonduktor. Di samping itu, para pelajar turut diberikan pendedahan mengenai program akademik yang ditawarkan oleh UniMAP, aktiviti penyelidikan serta inovasi yang dijalankan oleh INEE.

Pelbagai aktiviti interaktif telah disediakan di ruang pameran bagi menarik minat para pelajar terhadap bidang Sains, Teknologi, Kejuruteraan dan Matematik (STEM). Pihak INEE turut berkongsi maklumat mengenai laluan pendidikan dan prospek kerjaya dalam bidang kejuruteraan, teknologi dan semikonduktor. Sambutan yang diterima daripada para pelajar, guru dan ibu bapa amat menggalakkan apabila ramai mengambil peluang untuk berinteraksi secara langsung serta mendapatkan maklumat berkaitan pengajian di UniMAP.

Pengarah INEE, Prof. Madya Ir. Ts. Dr. Muhammad Mahyiddin Ramli, berkata Pendedahan awal kepada pelajar sekolah terhadap bidang nanoteknologi, mikroelektronik dan semikonduktor amat penting dalam melahirkan generasi yang bersedia menghadapi keperluan Revolusi Perindustrian Keempat serta perkembangan teknologi masa hadapan. INEE sentiasa komited untuk menyokong usaha membudayakan STEM melalui aktiviti promosi, perkongsian ilmu dan pemindahan teknologi kepada masyarakat.

Kunjungan Hormat NanoMalaysia Berhad ke Atas Naib Canselor UniMAP

Pada 20 Julai 2026 yang lepas, satu kunjungan hormat oleh pihak NanoMalaysia Berhad (NMB) ke atas YBhg. Naib Canselor Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), YBhg. Dato’ Prof. Ts. Dr. Zaliman Sauli telahpun berlangsung di Bangunan Canselori Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin, UniMAP.

Pihak NMB telah diwakili oleh Professor Emeritus Dato' Ir. Dr. Mohamad Zawawi bin Ismail, Pengerusi NMB dan Dr. Rezal Khairi Ahmad, Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif NMB. Pertemuan ini membincangkan halatuju kerjasama strategik antara UniMAP dan NMB terutamanya dalam bidang nanoteknologi dan nanosains.

Pertemuan ini juga membincangkan kemajuan projek Biomass Innovation Circular Economy Programme (BICEP) iaitu projek penghasilan bahan nano grafen berskala besar. Projek ini mendapat tajaan penuh dari Kementerian Sains, Teknologi dan Inovasi (MOSTI) melalui NMB.
