Pulau Harvest has a new mini greenhouse with basil, pok choi, mint, and more!

A heartfelt thank you to Alice Smith School for helping bring the Mini Greenhouse Project to life right here in Kampung Juara, Tioman Island. The working, pesticide-free hydroponic system will keep growing food for our community long after the paint on the signs has faded.

This is what long-term reciprocal partnership looks like: showing up, getting your hands dirty, and creating something that regenerates. Terima kasih, Alice Smith School! We're so proud of what we built together.

Celebrating 10 years with Dover Court International School. 🙌

2027 will mark a decade of DCIS students joining us in Tioman and Sabah, and we couldn't be happier that they'll be back again next year.

DCIS is one of the few schools we work with that truly commits to making outdoor education inclusive and accessible for students on diverse learning pathways. Designing programs around that isn't just our job, it's a privilege.

Almost 10 years in, and it still comes back to the same thing--a shared journey, a fresh perspective, and a group of young people discovering what they're capable of outdoors.

Here's to the next trip already on the calendar. 👏

Big things are happening on the water in Juara! 🌊

The students of SK. Juara are training hard ahead of this month's MSSD (Majlis Sukan Sekolah-sekolah Daerah), the district schools sports competition that helps identify and develop young athletes across Malaysia.

What began with one old Topper dinghy has grown into something fantastic for local kids. After the Ministry of Education saw the potential here in Juara, the school received 3 new sailboats and a local sailing program took root. ⛵️⛵️⛵️

Little Planet has been alongside the school throughout: PFDs, sailing gloves, and instructor support out on the water during training. We have always believed Juara has what it takes to become one of Malaysia's sailing schools, and watching these students rig up and head out, it is easy to see why!

Smaller groups, longer sessions, and fewer expectations. 🌴

Summer Camp gives us a chance to approach outdoor education and residential programs from a different angle than our large-scale school groups, and we try to carry that learning back into everything we do.

There’s always an element of alchemy in creating great outdoor experiential education. We’re trying to stay dynamic, use our surroundings, pay attention to the vibe, find our flow, and focus on fun! ☀️

We’re making the space to follow the energy of the group and let the island do what it does best.

What a conference! OFFSEAS never fails to remind us why this work matters.

One of our favourite parts of this year? Bringing Juara Turtle Project along for the ride. Moments like these are a reminder of what becomes possible when we show up for one another. Conservation, education, community: none of it happens in isolation. The more we amplify each other's work, the further it reaches.

We hope you got the chance to stop by, say hello, and hear what they're up to on Tioman Island. If you didn't get to connect, consider this your nudge to reach out.

And to everyone who stopped by our table, swapped stories, or simply said hello–thank you! We’ll see you next year. 👋

Sea turtles take 20+ years to reach maturity, and so do meaningful partnerships.

For coming up on two decades, we've been building trust with the communities of Tioman Island, not because it's efficient, but because authentic relationships can't be rushed.

Our programs aren't designed for quick wins. They're rooted in place, grown with patience, and strengthened by the kind of reciprocity that only comes when you show up year after year.

The turtle knows. 🐢 Some things are worth the wait!

Every week we have the privilege to offer kids from Juara English lessons that go well beyond the classroom.

Starting this month, we're taking it one step further—one session each month will happen at Juara Turtle Project itself!

This isn't just about language practice. It's about anchoring learning in place, connecting kids to the conservation work happening in their own community, and giving them the tools to become voices for the project they're growing up alongside, to share the story of their Kampung, their ocean, and the work that matters here.

Place-based education means the community leads. 🙌

We've never chased scale. Here's why:

For two decades, we've returned to the same beaches, worked with the same communities, and watched students grow into the kind of change-makers the world actually needs.

Not through a week-long service trip, but through years of relationship, observation, and genuine partnership.

Our programs on Tioman Island aren't tourism. They're long-term commitments to place, people, and the slow work of regeneration.

Sea turtles don't rush. Coral reefs don't perform. And real transformation doesn't happen on a timeline designed for social media.

Juara on Tioman Island, Malaysia.

All are welcome to join, the topics covered will likely resonate with those interested in engaging students in conservation, environmental education and community-based initiatives, particularly in South East Asia.

Please see registration details below - we sincerely hope you can join us, spread the word and / or sign up to receive a link to the recording.

Hope to see you there!
