Foreigners under Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) programme will be allowed to reenter Malaysia beginning tomorrow, Sunday 17 May 2020. Prior to this, foreigners are barred from entering Malaysia since March 18 due to the movement control order (MCO) to curb the spread of COVID-19.

The MM2H programme is under the purview of the Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry. Since the inception of the MM2H programme in 2002, the government has given approvals to some 48,000 foreigners to reside in Malaysia. Participants of the programme enjoy the privilege of a Social Visit Pass, a multiple entry of 10 years and renewable visa.

COVID-19 Guidelines and Advice for International Students
Phase 5: Movement Control Order (MCO)
13th May– 09th June 2020
• Everyone is required to stay at home as advised by the Prime Minister of Malaysia due to the implementation of Movement Control Order.
• Only essential services will remain open like supermarkets, hospitals and pharmacies. Other businesses will be closed.
• Everyone is advised to make purchases through online platforms.
• Travel within Malaysia will be limited and public transport will be restricted. People who return from overseas need to go through a quarantine period as directed by the Ministry of Health.
• During the Movement Control Order, all educational institutions will be closed. Classes will be conducted via online.
