On 9 September 2026, the FET Alumni Committee organised an alumni guest lecture featuring Mr. Lee Shao En, a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering alumnus from the Class of 2026.

The session, titled “My Diploma Journey in Mechanical Engineering,” allowed students to hear first-hand about Mr. Lee’s academic journey, his experiences during his diploma studies, and his progression to the Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering with Honours at FET, MMU.

Through his sharing, students gained practical insights into life as a Mechanical Engineering student, the transition from diploma to degree studies, and the opportunities available for those who wish to continue their academic journey in engineering.

Location: Texas Instruments (TI) Malacca
Organization: Test Technology Solution

Responsibilities:
⭐ Qualification and development on multiple roadmaps testers/ATE (Automatic Test Equipment) platforms, like National instruments, Teradyne ATE
⭐ Test hardware seed job design including test circuitry design, PCB layout and routing
⭐ Test program development/conversion on the roadmap ATE platform
⭐ Global team collaborate with cross-functional team on the development, qualification and deployment of new test cell technologies release
⭐ Receiving feedback and issue on test cell technologies from global business and manufacturing partners and provide solutions for permanent fix
⭐ Continue driving and define test cell improvement for TI from the perspective of test technologies
⭐ Debugging and analyses root cause on ATE, correlate results with bench data

Experiences & Requirements:
⭐ Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering, or other related engineering degree
⭐ Fresh graduates or less than 2 years working experience in related field
⭐ Possesses good understanding and interest in electronics fundamental theory
⭐ Experience in circuit simulator and schematic capture software.
⭐ Hand-on skill on lab equipment including oscilloscope and multimeter
⭐ Demonstrated fundamental of programming skill set in C++/Phyton
⭐ Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions
⭐ Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery
⭐ Possess effective problem-solving, root cause analysis and decision-making skills
