Author Speaks: Communicating Our Heritage

Join us for an inspiring webinar that brings language, culture, and identity into focus through the lens of cutting-edge research from the Journal of Communication, Language and Culture. This session explores how words, food, and place intertwine to shape Malaysia’s rich cultural tapestry.

Discover how the intricate structure of language reveals deeper cultural meanings in traditional Kelantan kuih, uncovering the journey from morphemes to meaning. Delve into the fascinating dynamics of linguistic exchange with a case study on the morphological integration of Malay words in Nyonya cuisine, where heritage is preserved through both taste and terminology. Finally, gain fresh insights into how storytelling and identity converge in the community branding framework for Malaysia’s UNESCO Biosphere Reserves, highlighting the role of communication in sustaining heritage landscapes.

Whether you are a researcher, student, or cultural enthusiast, this webinar offers a unique opportunity to engage with scholars and reimagine how heritage is communicated, preserved, and celebrated.

Be part of the conversation where we delve into stories of who we are.
