"Two years ago, I sat among the graduates, filled with hope and uncertainty about what the future would hold. Today, I have the privilege of returning, not as a student, but as an invited alumnus to celebrate the achievements of a new generation of graduates.

It is a reminder that our relationship with our university does not end at graduation. We carry its values, lessons, and memories into our careers and our lives.

"Two decades later… and suddenly, the memories came rushing back. ❤️🎓

Being invited back to Universiti Tenaga Nasional for its 𝟐𝟖𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐲 was more emotional than I expected.

As I watched the graduates walk proudly into the hall, my mind travelled back to 𝐦𝐲 𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐠𝐨. For a moment, it felt like yesterday… the excitement, the friendships, the struggles, the laughter, the dreams we carried and that feeling of wondering what life would look like after university.

And then came Sue Fern Tan’s speech…

Every word touched something in me, and yes… 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐞! ❤️❤️

And apparently, I was caught on camera too… adoiii! 😂📸

But those tears were happy ones. Tears of gratitude. Tears for the journey. Tears for how far we have come, and for the people and experiences that shaped us along the way.

Returning to UNITEN reminded me that 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐦𝐚𝐲 𝐞𝐧𝐝, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐮𝐬. We may take different paths, build different careers and go through very different chapters in life, but somehow, coming home to UNITEN brings us back to our roots.

It was also wonderful reconnecting with lecturers, staff, seniors, juniors and fellow alumni. Different batches, different stories, but one common bond…. UNITEN. ❤️

A heartfelt thank you to UNITEN and UNITEN Alumni Association (UAA) for the invitation and for giving us the opportunity to be part of this special occasion. Some moments pass, but some become 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞.

To the 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, congratulations! 🎓🎉

"I'm incredibly proud to share that I recently served as the Program Director for the EV Level Up Series 2026, organized under SRC UNITEN! The idea for this event actually came from my own experience. During my time as President of IET UNITEN, I realized I struggled whenever I was thrown into ad-hoc emceeing situations.
(Fun fact about how I operate: whenever I spot a gap in my own skills that I want to fix, my immediate reflex is to organize an entire program around it to help others and myself learn.)

This 3-day workshop brought together 30 passionate students to completely overhaul and polish their emceeing capabilities. Beyond personal development, it was also a strategic initiative to reactivate the EmceeVengers society, establishing a dedicated hub for all emcee activities and event planning here at UNITEN. A massive thank you to our amazing lineup of speakers and facilitators, Puan Shazura, Puan Juraini, Abang Aiman, Abang Amir, and Kak Ariessa. Thanks to their expertise, our participants dived deep into voice modulation, formal protocol, script writing, handling live ad-hoc situations, and event planning fundamentals.

The highlight of the series was definitely the hands-on simulations. The energy was fantastic, filled with so much laughter and genuine growth, and I personally loved every second of the networking and fun interactions.

To my incredible team; Elle, Hanna, Zaharah, Salmaa, Afiqah, Rayyan and Firdauz: thank you. You all did a wonderful job bringing this vision to life, and I couldnt have asked for a better crew. I deeply appreciate how you constantly supported this programme and, most importantly, stayed endlessly positive with smiles on your faces throughout this entire journey, even when things got hectic. It was a genuine joy working with every single one of you.

At the end of the day, everything we do is driven by a shared duty to continuously make UNITEN better. Here’s to raising the bar for our student leaders and future events! 🚀
