2026年5月6日，弘光科技大学校长苏弘毅教授一行到访本校。此行目的旨在透过实地参访，进行深入交流，在既有的合作基础上，探讨更多潜在合作方向，进一步巩固两校合作关系，携手推动技职教育的国际化交流与发展。

弘光科技大学代表有校长苏弘毅教授、国际专修部副主任陈俊良，以及国际专修部合作展业中心行政专员蔡尚甫。本校代表有技职与推广教育学院院长李应伦、助理院长蔡苔芬助理教授、助理院长吴伟光、学术联络官蔡游易、国际教育学院国际学生招生办公室主任彭会婷高级讲师，以及国际教育学院教育项目专员魏倩文。

会谈期间，双方代表分别就各自的发展现况和未来规划进行介绍，并重点围绕学生培养、技术交流及学科共建等多个潜在合作方向展开探讨。双方期待在未来携手推动更多合作项目，联合培养具备国际视野的职能领域专才。

On 6 May 2026, a delegation led by Prof. Shu Hung-Yee, President of Hungkuang University, visited New Era University College (NEUC). The purpose of this visit is to conduct in-depth exchanges through on-site visits, explore more potential directions for cooperation on the basis of existing collaborations, further consolidate the partnership between the two institutions, and jointly promote the international exchange and development of technical and vocational education.

Representatives from Huangkuang University included Prof. Shu Hung-Yee (President), Mr. Chen Chun-Liang (Director of the Cooperative Development Center) and Mr. Tsai Shang-Fu (Cooperative Development Center Specialist). The representatives from NEUC included Mr. Lee Yin Loon (Director, Institute of Vocational and Continuing Education), Asst. Prof. Dr. Tsai Tai Fen (Assistant Director, Institute of Vocational and Continuing Education), Ts. Ng Wai Kong (Assistant Director, Institute of Vocational and Continuing Education), Mr. Chai Yu Yii (Office Manager, Institute of Vocational and Continuing Education), Ms. Phang Hui Ting (Head, International Student Recruitment Office, Institute of International Education) and Ms. Que Jan Voon (Education Programme Specialist, Institute of International Education).

During the meeting, representatives from both sides introduced their respective current development status and future plans, and focused discussions on several potential cooperation directions, including student cultivation, technical exchange, and discipline co-construction. Both sides look forward to jointly promoting more cooperation projects in the future and cultivating professionals in functional fields with an international perspective.

简介：由新纪元大学学院文学与社会科学院及陈六使研究所策划执行的“陈六使弘毅国际讲坛”第四十九讲即日起开放报名。本次讲座特邀华侨大学冯昆键助理教授，将深入探讨全球橡胶种植危机与马来亚紧急状态。1948年，马来半岛进入长达十二年的“紧急状态”。传统叙事主张这是一场政治斗争，视角多聚焦于非殖民化运动下的英国殖民当局、族群精英以及其中的代表性团体，亦有少部分涉及工人运动的研究。然而，传统叙事存在放大效应，一定程度上使得那些影响战后马来亚社会发展的因素逐渐远离人们的视野，甚至遭到遗忘。主讲人将聚焦于一个被忽视的幕后推手“橡胶”，近距离观察“橡胶”作为一种热带作物，如何在马来亚掀起了一场政治、经济与社会风暴。本讲座也希望可以借此提供一个新的视角，带领大家走进那场关于生存、资本与误判的历史。

📌主讲人：冯昆键助理教授（华侨大学华侨华人与区域国别研究院）
冯昆键助理教授，马来西亚籍华裔，2024年9月起担任华侨大学华侨华人与区域国别研究院助理教授。博士毕业自北京大学历史学系，毕业论文获评为北京大学历史学系优秀毕业论文。在华留学期间曾获清华大学奖学金、北京大学新生奖学金、北京市政府奖学金及中国政府奖学金等。主要研究领域为东南亚史暨华侨华人史，当前研究关注马来亚种植园华工史。目前主持校级项目及国家级项目各一项。

廖筱纹，2021年博士毕业于新加坡国立大学，现任新纪元大学学院国际教育学院助理院长，兼国际学术交流处主任。主要研究方向为民俗与民间文化、新马华人历史，出版专著有《金山作客——吉兰丹水月宫及其观音信仰》及《中国与东南亚客家：跨域考察纪行与论述》（第二作者），发表学术论文二十余篇。

The forty-ninth talks of the “Tan Lark Sye Lecture Series” will take place soon. In this lecture, Asst. Prof. Dr. Pang Koon Kein from HuaQiao University will explore the global rubber plantation crisis and the Malayan Emergency. In 1948, the Malay Peninsula entered a twelve-year period known as the "Malayan Emergency."

Traditional narratives claimed that this was purely political strife, with research perspectives largely focused on the British colonial authorities, ethnic elites, and representative organizations within the decolonization movement. A small number of studies involved the labor movement. However, these traditional narratives carry an "amplification effect," which to some extent has caused other factors influencing post-war Malayan social development to fade from public view or even be forgotten. This lecture will focus on a neglected factor behind the history: "Rubber." Dr. Pang will examine how rubber, as a tropical crop, triggered a political, economic, and social storm in Malaya. Through this, this lecture hope to provide a new perspective that leads the audience into a history defined by survival, capital, and miscalculation.

📌Introduction
The “Tan Lark Sye Lecture Series” is a joint initiative between the Tan Lark Sye Institute and the Institute of International Education. Established in 2013, the Tan Lark Sye Institute is dedicated to advancing academic endeavors in alignment with Tan Lark Sye’s educational philosophy. On the other hand, the Institute of International Education, founded in April 2019, has achieved remarkable progress in just a few years. It offers a wide range of master’s and doctoral programs covering fields such as Education, Chinese Studies, Business Administration, and Southeast Asian Studies, rapidly expanding its academic offerings.
The collaboration between the Tan Lark Sye Institute and the Institute of International Education has given rise to the “Tan Lark Sye Lecture Series.” This series invites scholars from around the world to share their expertise on topics related to Chinese studies, Southeast Asia, business, education, and more. Through these lectures, our goal is to spark public interest in academic, educational, and cultural awareness, while also nurturing in our students the enduring spirit of Tan Lark Sye’s dedication to lifelong learning.

2026年4月17日，新纪元大学学院副校长郑诗傧副教授拜访闽南理工学院，并签署国际合作协议，共同确立两校合作项目的启动与推进。

本次参会人员有我校副校长郑诗傧副教授及国际教育学院留学服务中心驻中国办事处张锐副院长；闽南理工学院王浩君副校长及外事办公室梁曦主任。会上，两校领导分别介绍了各自院校的办学背景和未来规划，同时围绕师生互访、联合培养及学科共建等多个未来合作方向展开探讨，并于现场签署国际合作协议，为后续的项目推进与落实奠定基础，展望携手培养更多专业人才。会后，我校代表团也实地参访了该校的数字化图书馆、实验室、学生宿舍及学生一站式服务大厅等，以深入了解该校的发展现况。

本次参访交流及国际合作协议的签署，标志着两校合作关系的进一步深化。双方期待在未来为两校师生搭建更广阔的发展平台，共同为马中两国教育事业的交流与互动贡献力量。

On 17 April 2026, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tey Shi Bin, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, New Era University College (NEUC) visited Minnan University of Science and Technology and signed an International Cooperation Agreement.

The representatives from NEUC included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tey Shi Bin, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Mr. Zhang Rui, Deputy Dean of International Student Service Centre in China. The representatives from Minnan University of Science and Technology included Mr. Wang Haojun, Deputy Vice President and Mr. Liang Xi, Director of Office of Foreign Affairs. During the meeting, both institutions introduced their respective current development status and future plans, while engaging in in-depth discussions on various collaborative projects such as faculty and student exchanges, joint training programs, and joint discipline development. The two parties jointly signed an international cooperation agreement, laying the foundation for subsequent promotion and implementation.

After the meeting, representatives from NEUC also visited the Minnan University of Science and Technology's digital library, laboratories, student dormitories, and one-stop student service hall to gain an in-depth understanding of the university's current development status.

This visit and the signing of the international cooperation agreement mark the deepening of collaboration between the two universities. Both parties look forward to joining hands in cultivating more professional talents in the future and contributing to the joint construction and interaction of education between Malaysia and China.

大家好！我是来自中国山东的博士毕业生代表李佩珊。非常荣幸能够作为校级优秀毕业论文奖代表在这里发言。

时光荏苒，如白驹过隙。回首在新纪元大学学院的这段日子，是我人生中最为宝贵的经历。作为一名在职高校教师，我怀揣着对知识的渴望和对中华文化的追寻踏入这所校园，如今即将带着满满的收获与成长迈向新的征程。

在这里，我遇到了一支卓越的师资队伍。他们不仅拥有深厚的学术造诣，更有着无私的爱心和奉献精神。每位老师都以他们的专业知识和丰富经验，为我打开了知识的大门。感谢他们在学术上的严格把关，在迷茫时的耐心指点。从论文选题的反复推敲到每一个观点的精雕细琢，他们的教诲让我少走了许多弯路，也让我更加坚定了追求真理的决心和信念。

在博士学习的过程中，我也遇到了许多困难和挑战。平衡工作与学业的压力、漫长的研究过程，都曾让我感到疲惫。但是，正是这些挑战，让我学会了坚持与努力，也让我变得更加坚强和成熟。我在不断地克服困难中成长，在不断地挑战自我中进步。

马来西亚这片多元文化交融的热土，新纪元大学学院这座海外华文教育的灯塔，让我们看到了中华文化在异域他乡的蓬勃生命力。在这里，我们深刻体会到了“君子和而不同”的博大智慧。这种多元共荣的盛景，将我从一名单纯的知识传授者，重塑为一名文化的思考者与连接者。今天，我要毕业了。我将带着新纪元的精神，回到自己的工作岗位。立志成为一座文化交流的桥梁——连接中国与马来西亚，连接世界。

最后，我想再次感谢母校领导、我的导师及各位老师们。祝愿大家在今后的日子里“自信人生二百年，会当水击三千里” ，祝愿新纪元大学学院的未来更加美好。谢谢大家！

A very good morning to everyone. Looking back, my time at New Era University College has been one of the most meaningful chapters of my life. I arrived as a lecturer seeking knowledge of Chinese culture and leave with growth and readiness for new challenges.

I am deeply grateful to my supervisors and teachers for their wisdom and guidance. The multicultural spirit of Malaysia and New Era’s dedication to Chinese education have inspired me to become a bridge between cultures.

大家好！我是来自中国、中华研究专业的博士毕业生刘平。今天，能作为优秀毕业留学生代表站在这里发言，我的内心充满了荣幸与感恩。

在新纪元大学学院攻读博士学位的这段时光，已然成为我人生画卷中最浓墨重彩、最弥足珍贵的篇章。犹记当初，我抱着对学术研究的热爱，跨越山海来到这里，满心憧憬地开启求知之路。而今，毕业的钟声敲响，我们即将带着在校园里收获的学识、智慧与成长，奔赴人生的下一段旅程。

求学路上，最幸运的莫过于遇见良师。在这里，我有幸结识了一群学术功底深厚、治学态度严谨的优秀师长。在博士论文的研究过程中，从选题方向的敲定，到研究思路的梳理，再到文献资料的考据、论证逻辑的打磨，每一步都离不开老师们的悉心点拨与耐心指导。你们用严谨的学术精神教会我们追求真理、求真务实，用温暖的教诲陪伴我们走过科研路上的迷茫与困顿，帮我们拨开学术探索中的层层迷雾，让我们在中华研究的学术海洋中稳步前行。

新纪元大学学院为我们搭建了极佳的求学平台。图书馆里的潜心研读，学术研讨会上的思想碰撞，课堂上的激烈探讨，校园里的朝夕相伴，都成为了我们求学岁月里最温暖的记忆。博士阶段的研究从不是一帆风顺的，严苛的学术标准、漫长的资料搜集、复杂的课题论证，都曾让我们倍感压力，甚至心生退缩之意。但正是这些挑战与磨砺，锤炼了我们坚持不懈的毅力，塑造了我们沉稳从容的心态，让我们在攻坚克难中实现了自我突破。

On April 25th, New Era University College held its 27th Spring Convocation, welcoming hundreds of graduates from academic and vocational programs. Among them were 80 international students from the United States, China, Vietnam, India, and other countries, as well as 7 students from the Department of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language, all under the Institute of International Education. 2026年4月3日，新纪元大学学院校长莫顺宗教授赴日照航海工程职业学院进行访问交流，并签署国际合作协议，以期深化两校合作关系。

本次参会代表包括我校校长莫顺宗教授及国际教育学院留学服务中心驻中国办事处张锐副院长；日照航海工程职业学院刘泓妤副院长、国际交流与合作处朱琳处长、信息学院崔文超副院长，以及国际交流与合作处刘雁羽。

会上，两校领导就各自院校的创办历程、发展概况及未来规划进行介绍，并重点围绕学术科研、研学交流及联合培养等多个合作领域展开讨论。在交流的基础上，双方正式签署国际合作协议，展望在未来通过资源串联与共享，打造国际交流平台，携手培育更多专业人才。

我校代表团借此机会实地参访了该校的数字智联产业学院、非遗学院以及航海虚拟仿真综合实训中心等，并就相关领域的合作潜力进行深入交流。

此次访问与国际合作协议的签署，不仅确立了两校关系的深化，更象征着马中教育事业的互动与共建迈向了新的里程碑。

On 3 April 2026, Prof. Dr. Mok Soon Chong, Vice-Chancellor of New Era University College (NEUC) visited Rizhao Marine Engineering Vocational College for an exchange and signed an international cooperation agreement aimed at deepening the partnership between the two institutions.

The representatives from NEUC included Prof. Dr. Mok Soon Chong, Vice-Chancellor, Mr. Zhang Rui, Deputy Dean of International Student Service Centre in China. The representatives from Rizhao Marine Engineering Vocational College included Ms. Liu HongYu, Vice Dean, Ms. Zhu Lin, Director of Office of the International Exchange and Cooperation, Mr. Cui WenChao, Vice Dean of Department of Information, and Ms. Liu YanYu, Office of the International Exchange and Cooperation.

During the meeting, representatives of both universities introduced the founding history, development overview, and future plans of their respective institutions, and engaged in in-depth discussions on various cooperation projects, with a focus on academic research, study exchanges, and joint training programs. Building on these exchanges, the two parties formally signed an international cooperation agreement, looking forward to connecting and sharing resources in the future to build an international exchange platform and jointly cultivate more professional talents.

After the meeting, the representatives from NEUC conducted an on-site visit to the institution's Digital Intelligence Industry College, Intangible Cultural Heritage College, Maritime Virtual Simulation Comprehensive Training Center, and other facilities, and held in-depth discussions on the potential for cooperation in related fields.

This visit and the signing of the international cooperation agreement not only signify a deepening of the relationship between the two universities but also represent a new milestone in the interaction and collaborative development of Malaysia-China education.

简介：由新纪元大学学院陈六使研究所及国际教育学院策划执行的“陈六使弘毅国际讲坛”第四十九讲即日起开放报名。本次讲座特邀华侨大学冯昆键助理教授，将深入探讨全球橡胶种植危机与马来亚紧急状态。1948年，马来半岛进入长达十二年的“紧急状态”。传统叙事主张这是一场政治斗争，视角多聚焦于非殖民化运动下的英国殖民当局、族群精英以及其中的代表性团体，亦有少部分涉及工人运动的研究。然而，传统叙事存在放大效应，一定程度上使得那些影响战后马来亚社会发展的因素逐渐远离人们的视野，甚至遭到遗忘。主讲人将聚焦于一个被忽视的幕后推手“橡胶”，近距离观察“橡胶”作为一种热带作物，如何在马来亚掀起了一场政治、经济与社会风暴。本讲座借此提供一个新的视角，带领大家走进那场关于生存、资本与误判的历史。

📌主讲人：冯昆键助理教授（华侨大学华侨华人与区域国别研究院）
冯昆键助理教授，马来西亚籍华裔，2024年9月起担任华侨大学华侨华人与区域国别研究院助理教授。博士毕业自北京大学历史学系，毕业论文获评为北京大学历史学系优秀毕业论文。在华留学期间曾获清华大学奖学金、北京大学新生奖学金、北京市政府奖学金及中国政府奖学金等。主要研究领域为东南亚史暨华侨华人史，当前研究关注马来亚种植园华工史。目前主持校级项目及国家级项目各一项。

廖筱纹，2021年博士毕业于新加坡国立大学，现任新纪元大学学院国际教育学院助理院长。主要研究方向为民俗与民间文化、新马华人历史，出版专著有《金山作客：吉兰丹水月宫及其观音信仰》《中国与东南亚客家：跨域考察纪行与论述》（第二作者）及《甘蜜帝国：华人社群及新柔佛的崛起1784-1917》，发表学术论文二十余篇。

🔥Tan Lark Sye Lecture Series – 49th Session Open for Registration🔥

The 49th session of the “Tan Lark Sye Lecture Series,” organized by the Institute of International Education and the Tan Lark Sye Institute at New Era University College, is now open for registration. In this lecture, Asst. Prof. Dr. Pang Koon Kein from Hua Qiao University will explore the global rubber plantation crisis and the Malayan Emergency. In 1948, the Malay Peninsula entered a twelve-year period known as the "Malayan Emergency." Traditional narratives claimed that this was purely political strife, with research perspectives largely focused on the British colonial authorities, ethnic elites, and representative organizations within the decolonization movement. A small number of studies involved the labor movement. However, these traditional narratives carry an "amplification effect," which to some extent has caused other factors influencing post-war Malayan social development to fade from public view or even be forgotten. This lecture will focus on a neglected factor behind the history: "Rubber." Dr Pang will examine how rubber, as a tropical crop, triggered a political, economic, and social storm in Malaya. Through this, this lecture hope to provide a new perspective that leads the audience into a history defined by survival, capital, and miscalculation.

📌 Speaker: Asst. Prof. Dr. Pang Koon Kein (Research Institute of Global Chinese and Area Studies, Hua Qiao University)
Dr. Pang Koon Kein, a Malaysian Chinese scholar who has served as an Assistant Professor at the Research Institute of Global Chinese and Area Studies, Hua Qiao University, since September 2024. He holds a PhD from the Department of History at Peking University, where his doctoral thesis was honored as an Outstanding Graduation Thesis. During his studies in China, he was a recipient of the Tsinghua University Scholarship, the Peking University Freshman Scholarship, the Beijing Government Scholarship, and the Chinese Government Scholarship. His primary research fields include Southeast Asian history and the history of Overseas Chinese, with a current focus on the history of Chinese laborers in Malayan plantations. He is currently leading one university-level project and one national-level project.

Dr. Lew received her PhD from the National University of Singapore and is currently the Assistant Dean at the Institute of International Education, New Era University College. Her main research interests include folklore and folk culture, and the history of Chinese communities in Singapore and Malaysia. She has published several works, including Discovering the Goddess of Mercy in Swee Nyet Temple of Pulai, Kelantan and Hakka in China and Southeast Asia: Cross-Regional Field Work and Essays (co-authored). She has also published more than 20 academic papers.
