🤖 FROM ZERO TO SUMOBOT

Never built a robot before? No problem.

Join our Sumobot Robotics Course and learn how to:

🔵 DESIGN— Design and build your own sumobot from scratch
🟢 CODE— Learn the programming needed to control your robot
🔴 BATTLE — Put your creation to the test against other teams

From CAD design → 3D printing → circuits → programming → competition, learn the full process of building your own working robot.

**No robotics experience required.**

🏆 GOLD CHAMPIONS AT THE 19TH MALAYSIA FIRA CUP 2026 🏆

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that the URS team has officially brought home the GOLD in the Ai-Bot Voice Command Challenge! 🥇

From June 6th to 11th, our dedicated team traveled to Politeknik Kota Bharu, Kelantan, to compete in the 19th Malaysia FIRA Cup. It was an incredible week of innovation, problem-solving, and pushing the boundaries of robotics.

We proudly competed in two major categories:
🚗 FAC - Autonomous Car Challenge (ACC Autonomous Racing Car & ACC Urban Driving)
🎙️ Ai-Bot - Artificial Intelligence Robot (Voice-Command Challenge)

A massive and heartfelt thank you goes out to our amazing supervisors, Dr. Hau Lee Cheun and Dr. Wong Hong Mun. Your invaluable guidance, technical expertise, and unwavering support led our student team to this remarkable success. We truly couldn’t have done it without you! 🙌🎓

Congratulations to all our brilliant team members for their hard work, late-night debugging sessions, and relentless dedication to autonomous systems. This gold medal is a huge testament to the passion and talent within URS.

Here’s to more victories, continuous innovation, and building the future of robotics! 🚀✨

RoboCup Malaysia Open 2025 | 14–18 August 2025

RoboCup brings together students, researchers and industry to push the limits of intelligent robots. RoboCup@Home league challenges teams to build human-service robots that sense, reason and assist people in everyday environments: Navigation, Object Manipulation, Human–Robot Interaction and Intelligence.

From late-night builds to last-minute debugging, UTAR RoboCup@Home teams showed what hard work and curiosity produce. At RoboCup Malaysia Open 2025, UTAR@Home EDU team won the CHAMPIONSHIP — a true testament to research-led engineering. We also earned Best Paper and Best Oral Presentation, recognition for both our technical results and how we communicate them.

Huge thanks to the Malaysia AI Robotics Society (MARS) for organizing, to our supervisors and sponsors for their guidance, and to every teammate for their dedication and support. This week belongs to the entire UTAR robotics family — let’s carry this momentum into the next challenge✨
