It was our absolute pleasure to share the stage with Dr. Siti Aminah and Miss Vyshnavi in a session with IIUM students discussing period poverty earlier this month. Many valuable insights were shared that must be spread beyond the auditorium walls.

We applaud for starting the conversation among university students, which motivated us to continue having these conversations with our school community!

Sentiments and stigmas, when left unchecked, often add layers of challenges for marginalised communities who are already struggling with basic necessities.

Let us all do our parts to educate ourselves and the people around us ✊🏼

Grateful for the journey at Pusat Al-Islamiyah so far. (And the morning activity sessions that keep us all active! 🏸)

As we enter the last 10 days of Ramadan, it's important to remind ourselves that education isn't just learning letters and numbers, but is to build characters, minds that can discern good and bad, truth and false, and recognise our roles in this temporary world.

In every lesson planned and every program organised, we hope that our hearts get closer to loving and understanding the Quran and our religion better.

This Nuzul Quran, we had the opportunity to gather again and watch our students recite parts of the Quran. Students also participated in a quiz prepared by the teachers and a lovely performance.

We are grateful for Puan Fatimah and her friends from Rakan Hidayah Centre for supporting this program and are always so thoughtful about the welfare of our students. May Allah bless you 💫

KEMPEN SUMBANGAN BUKU SEKOLAH 📚

Alhamdulillah, sudah 3 minggu sesi persekolahan untuk tahun 2026 berjalan. Gembira dapat berkumpul semula di sekolah untuk kami saling mengisi perjalanan pendidikan anak-anak dan guru-guru.

Kami ingin membuka kempen sumbangan buku sekolah untuk kegunaan mereka sepanjang tahun. Sasaran perbelanjaan buku untuk kedua-dua sesi pagi dan petang ialah RM 35 bagi setiap pelajar.

Kami ingin mengajak anda untuk sama-sama mendukung usaha pendidikan ini dan sama-sama mengurangkan jumlah kanak-kanak yang keciciran pendidikan.

Once in a while I still think about this particular week in 2025. One of our focus in Bahasa Melayu and Social Sciences class was to increase the cultural awareness among our school community.

Our students – they're all friends with each other, live in the same area, go to the same school, spend time doing the same activities, and fluent enough in Malay. But, if we were to draw a Venn diagram, what else make their own communities special or different?

My students mentioned food! In the Rohingya community, lapasu is commonly served as an appetiser for guests. My Cambodian students told me about their own version of beef noodles soup and curry puff. At this point I was already drooling and asked if they knew where I could get them. I did not have to get anything, because on Tuesday someone brought sonna, then on Wednesday another student brought beef noodles soup, the next day they bought the ingredients and made lapasu together, and on Friday someone's mother made shutki for all of us.

I still think about this particular week sometimes, but I think about my students' kindness all the time :)

Selamat kembali ke sekolah semua!

Minggu ini adalah minggu pendaftaran bagi pelajar baru dan juga bersua muka dengan ibubapa untuk berbincang tentang pendidikan anak-anak. Ada yang tersenyum, ada yang berkerut kerut dahinya.

Kerja pendidikan ini panjang tapi kami teruja untuk melihat apa lagi potensi anak-anak dan juga guru-guru yang boleh dibentuk dan dikembangkan tahun ini.

Semoga hati-hati kita sentiasa mencari ilmu yang benar ✊🏼

Ended the year with a project very dear to my heart because it's so beautiful to see young students working together to achieve something.

In a month, we began with the introduction to natural resources -> learning how to use Google to find information -> filtering information online -> how to present those information creatively (!) -> understanding contents before presenting -> practising how to deliver in both Malay and English -> presentation!

A long and rewarding process Alhamdulillah. In each class we reminded each other that we are the caretakers of this Earth and through learning about other species can we understand how to be grateful and care for them better.

Kami bawa seorang wakil Kuntum Sayang untuk duduk bersama dengan wakil ketua komuniti dan pengurusan masjid di Singapura dalam satu sesi yang sangat menyegarkan.

Pengalaman baru yang agak mendebarkan, tapi Alhamdulillah cerita cerita tentang sekolah dan Kuntum Sayang dapat dikongsi dari hati :)

Sangat gembira berjumpa orang-orang baru yang berjiwa besar, yang sentiasa mencari jalan untuk memberi manfaat kepada masyarakat.
